Interesting. I bought the previous version a few months back, and I like it a lot, especially for the price. I wonder how the gaming and media settings change the sound profile.- Ceilidh

Earbuds Round-Up
oh yeah never thought to post here about it, but I got mine last week. I haven't had the time to give them a good listen, but I did test the different filters, and they are impacting the signature quite a bit. I also prefer the blue filters, as the bass seems more articulate and I feel like...- Ceilidh

huh so apparently Kinera stealth renamed the Wyvern Abyss to Wyvern black. I was able to get one for a bit over 20€ taxes included, to use as a daily.- Ceilidh

not audio related but regarding the Dead Space Remake, know that it is extremely poorly optimized and EA basically told the devs to drop any patch or optimization they were working on. It stutters like crazy even on computers above the recommended specs. So you know, if you were planning on...- Ceilidh

man, I love their design. If I'm not mistaken, someone said earlier that it reminded them of the Blon BL-03, which I never had, and out of curiosity I might get those if they're reasonably priced.- Ceilidh

they're very different animals. The KA17 is a dongle, and the R3II is a DAP. Very different use case, as one requires to be plugged into a device and the other one can work independently- Ceilidh

Earbuds Round-Up
kinda curious about the BGVP DX7, I like the design, but I have no idea of how to read the graph they provided, and I already have the Fiio FF3 and I really like how it sounds. I'm mostly interested by the DX7 due to it having a detachable cable, and I didn't get the FF3S due to it having...- Ceilidh

Ampapa A1 - Tube Phono/Headphone Amp
Heya! Doing a bit of necroing here, but I've bought one from a friend that recently replaced his whole setup, and I usually aim for maximum transparency and as little coloration as possible, as I also use my gear for music producing. That being said, and considering I'm getting this little...- Ceilidh

I was really impressed with the Quiet Sea when I got it, so I've been following their stuff since, and I ended up getting the Star City 5 pro, and I really like it a lot. Also ended up ordering the Starlight from their website, which I don't think is listed anywhere yet, but it's a cheap bullet...- Ceilidh

I got a ZS10 Pro 2, mostly to replace a pair of ZS10 pro X that got crushed under a crate when helping a friend move :p I didn't want to give KZ another chance with their latest stunts, but I liked the ZS10 pro X, and I didn't want to spend more than $40, so I thought I'd give them another...- Ceilidh

the driver is apparently a 13mm "super linear planar driver", but the design diagram calls it an "annular planar driver" so it looks like it's a pseudo-planar- Ceilidh

Portable tube amp from china?
worth noting, considering the GAD ADV, that it got a nice little update: now it has a -10db switch, which makes it easier to use. Definitely a fun little amp, good for the price. It's my first tube amp and my usual gear is also used for producing, so it is as clinical and neutral as possible...- Ceilidh

Tempotec V3 DAP - small, powerful, functional with Hiby OS
I'd say yes, you should contact them. Mine arrived a few days ago and it's battery was nearly full on arrival, and I've been able to charge it using either a USB power bank or a dedicated USB charger, with no issues whatsoever.- Ceilidh

Tempotec V3 DAP - small, powerful, functional with Hiby OS
I'm currently looking for a budget dap, since my Sony NWA-105 is getting a bit long in the tooth and feels seriously underpowered sometimes, and this one looks interesting. Now if only the sellers I found on AX weren't charging way too much for shipping, that'd be great!- Ceilidh

to be honest, as a producer, I'd be a lot more interested in such a device than in a CD player, as cassette player produce an imperfect and saturated sound which can gives interesting results on some tracks, but also as a producer, I already own a bunch of VSTs that does the same thing for me :D...- Ceilidh

has some people already mentioned, it's not a "real" planar, but otherwise, if you like that kind of tuning, it is pretty good: https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/kinera-celest-pandamon.26255/reviews- Ceilidh

oh yeah, I got them because I wanted a fun set to listen to some specific tracks, and for that, it's great, I'm just curious about how 7hz would go with another tuning, and if it could be another fun one for other kinds of tracks :D- Ceilidh

That looks really nice! I bought the original version during the latest sales. Not too interested in buying a new pair just for the looks, but I might be interested if it's retuned.- Ceilidh

Ok! Thank you for your explanation. For some weird reason I thought that for jacks, you needed 3 poles for each plugs going into each side of the headphones to be balanced. While reading your explanation I just realised I was being dumb, since MMCX or 2 pin cables only have two poles too, on...- Ceilidh
