Still really impressed by the XTC 2 Open that John has made for me. 64 ohm Beryllium driver. Like listening to a 2 channel stereo up-close. Not exactly sure what the tuning is, I put the box away at the very beginning and just kept enjoying them. 1 wish - something to keep the cups spinning...

I don't think 'updates' / 'upgrades' are meant to be a complete improvement to every psycho-acoustic perception we have about sound. Just sounds like they will be changing tuning with pads. Presentation and tone can be manipulated in the 'room' the speakers are in. I could go for a little more...

Has anyone found a headband cover the correct size? The OAE1 headband 'leather' doesn't feel like it will be a winner in the durability category.
