Double tap to wake is a standard function built into newer versions of Android OS. Not sure if this could be changed. This has been requested, including by me as a long-time Plex Pass user. No ETA on when it may be added, but it is on the radar.

Confirmed this issue will be fixed in a future firmware update. Currently do not have an ETA on when the fix will be available.

Try a soft reset. While the player is on, press and hold the power button for 10 - 15 seconds until the player shuts doen and restarts, then try the firmware download again.

I would recommend trying a different cable or a different USB port on the PC.
