Focal Hadenys & Azurys Review & Measurements

Yeah you have to go by your own ears. Some headphones that don’t work for some people work for others. I thought the T5 lacked naturalness to its mids compared to the T1.3. There was also a bit of hardness in the T5’s upper mids that I thought may become problematic with extended use. I wouldn’t...

Focal Hadenys & Azurys Review & Measurements

The thing is the T1.3 doesn’t sound like this graph to me, it’s not near as bassy or recessed in its mids. Ironically I found the HD 660S2 bassier than the T1 and darker in the mids than the T1.3. I let go of the HD 660S2 because it was too dark and intense in the low-end causing listening...

Focal Hadenys & Azurys Review & Measurements

Do the graphs properly factor in concha gain? Because if not the perceived 2-4khz region is not that big of a dip. It’s something that needs to be factored in with angled drivers especially steeply angled drivers.

Focal Hadenys & Azurys Review & Measurements

I’ve owned the T1.3 for 4 years, it’s been my favorite headphones since and I’ve tried many other headphones since then. I never found either the T1.3 or T5.3 boomy, but I can see why since the bass can be overwhelming to some people. Though I thought the T1.3 was notably better than the T5.3...

Focal Hadenys & Azurys Review & Measurements

I’m personally am coming from Tesla Beyers so not really noticing an improvement in terms of imaging, separation, 3D staging, and dynamics but rather finding them comparable. What the new Focals do is retain those aspects I loved from my Beyers while also being better tuned with a bit of their...

Focal Hadenys & Azurys Review & Measurements

Honestly the Hadenys sounds like a better HD 600 to me more than anything, but I don't have much experience with other Focals and never heard the Clear (OG or MG), but have heard the Elear and Utopia OG many years ago. I never purchased one of the large Focals due to comfort problems I had with...

Focal Hadenys & Azurys Review & Measurements

The Hadenys is more open and airy with better treble extension and is able to resolve fine details better. The Azurys is a bit warmer and more intimate creating a somewhat fuller and thicker sound. The Hadenys has softer pads both the foam and cloth material and is more comfortable overall...

Beyerdynamic T1 3rd Gen out now

The T1.3 and T1.2 were quite close to me in terms of resolution. But it could also be unit variances going on favoring my particular gen 3 over my gen 2. Could also just be system synergy. Both T1’s were notably more resolving than the DT 1990 and Amiron Home to my ears.

Beyerdynamic T1 3rd Gen out now

Yeah in terms of technicalities and resolving ability the T1.3 is above the DT 1990. The tuning isn't for everyone, but I thought the T1.3 was the most resolving of the Tesla Beyers and is a large reason it won out over the T1.2, DT 1990, and Amiron Home for me. In terms of technical ability I...

NITSCH x Schiit Magni Piety - Impressions Thread

From what you're saying about the Pietus Maximus it may not necessarily be a good idea for me since I already have a Lake People G111 MKII which likely will sound similar as it sounds like a more neutral, more relaxed, and more refined version of the Magni Piety to me. A lot comes down to...

Beyerdynamic T1 3rd Gen out now

If you think the Amiron Home is too dark, the T1.3 would be too dark without question as it’s warmer and darker than the Amiron Home. Late production and black edition T1.2’s would also be too dark for you as they are very similar to the Amiron Home. I love the T1.3 but I do make sure to have a...

Focal Hadenys & Azurys Review & Measurements

Just got in both my Hadenys and Azurys today, enjoying both a lot so far. Think I made the right decision to get both of them. Initial impressions is the Hadenys will likely replace the HD 600 line for me. Will see what I think when they get burned in and I have a couple weeks with them.

    Unveiled: Meet the HD 620S

I haven’t noticed a difference with driver break-in on the HD 620S, pretty much sounds the same as they did out of the box. The HD 600 and HD 650 on the other hand were quite noticeably different sounding with break in, they become less stiff sounding and more effortless. Didn’t notice much...

    DROP + GRELL OAE1

And Beyer does 45mm on basically everything which aligns more with Austrian Audio’s 44mm finding. I know Beyer does a lot of R&D on the voice coil and motor/magnet systems. The 40mm finding is more for dynamic drivers in general I gather and not necessarily placement.

Yes and yes. Looks like they ended up with 40 extra pairs when they got the shipment.

    Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

It does have less bass but I don’t find it a detriment or even lacking and I’m used to headphones with a lot more bass and bass extension. I honestly think chasing more bass has made HD 6xx headphones after the HD 600 lacking something.

    Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

The HD 600 is the best of the HD 6xx lineup without question to me. The HD 650, 660S, and 660S2 are mixed bags to me and don’t have the amazing natural timbre and purity of the HD 600. The others sound like they are missing something whereas the HD 600 doesn’t and sounds complete to me.

what is the most durabel headphone out there?

Which T1 do you have? I know where to get Gen 2 and Gen 3 drivers in the US at least but they only come in matched pairs so they aren't cheap.

what is the most durabel headphone out there?

I've never had a Beyer driver die on me and I've owned dozens of Beyers. Never had an Audio-Technica, AKG, or Sennheiser driver die on me either. I guess I've been lucky on the driver reliability front in general.

Focal Hadenys & Azurys Review & Measurements

Sadly doesn’t seem any of the US sellers quite have them yet. Multiple US sellers have them for preorder. I would say this on Focal for not having them properly distributed to all the large markets when they announced and released them. Really hoping my pairs are shipped this week. Sennheiser...

what is the most durabel headphone out there?

The AKG's are shockingly durable and you can twist and turn their headband like a rag and they will be fine like nothing happened. The most durable headphone though is probably the discontinued Beyer DT 48, I'm sure those metal tanks of a headphone can survive an actual warzone and be fine...

    Grado rated best by CNN

It said on-ear headphones specifically, not over-ear so gotta take that into consideration. Sadly can't stand on-ear headphones, so never really bothered much with Grado even though I liked the sound on some that I've heard.
