Bravo V2 - Review, Tube Rolling, Mods (coming soon)

Sp12... I don't mean to diss Bravo. They served me well for a long while. It remains in my mind a wonderful way to start this journey. But my newly assembled Bottlehead Crack is far superior, to my ears... when I can hear. A side note in case you don't know... I've had some serious issues with...

    Tinnitus..............Do You Speak It ?

Thank you my friend, I appreciate your kind wishes. I am also getting some vertigo as well, which is what really worries me. I haven't given up hope yet, especially since my symptoms seem to keep changing. I plan on seeing another ENT soon, so we'll see... Happy new year to you.

    Tinnitus..............Do You Speak It ?

I cope by having some sort of sound always playing around me, if possible (only hard to do at work). It doesn't remove the ringing but it is distracting and gives my mind something else to think about. In the evening, rum also helps. :wine_glass: This year has been particularly hard for my...

Bravo V2 - Review, Tube Rolling, Mods (coming soon)

A few years on... both of my bravo amps are still running, though I am about to replace them with a newly ordered Bottlehead Crack. I still have some tubes I bought on ebay for that amp that Ive never unboxed, so it should be lots of fun ... I see there is now a Bravo V3 in play. No idea what...

I saw Iron Maiden in concert shortly after Powerslave was released. My ears were ringing for more than a week after that night. Yes, that also gives you some idea how very old i am lol...

Well, I guess you could call them both. Some of their songs clearly fall into the symphonic category (watch anything from Breaking the Fourth Wall, as in my prior post). A whole lot of their songs incorporate elements of fusion (meaning at least to me, all or most musicians playing in sync, some...

Bravo Audio - funny looking little tube amps

Well I think you just proved the whole point of tube rolling ... its a game of matching amp performance to the response of your cans and ears. I had an old mil spec 5963 black plate in my stock V2 and it was sounding great, but the highs were a bit sharp. So I put a 50's vintage round getter...

Dream Theater - you have to see it to believe it... Seven string guitar, six string bass, more drums than God, and a keyboardist that Emerson would be proud of... This is fusion prog rock at its best. Complete with an orchestra.

...700 pages since last post... This group was just brought to my attention by a colleague at work. For the life of me I have no idea how I ever missed these guys. Absolutely wonderful, the very definition of Musician's Music in Prog Rock genre... artisans all. definitely recommend.

    CanJam SoCal 2015 Impressions Thread

Oh, I'm hooked now bro lol I've already checked the map to see how far away Denver is from Orange County haha. Looks like an easy 1000 mile drive, with a quick detour in Vegas   I wish you'd woke me from the nap! But I was probably really sawing logs. I think I got 3 hours the night...

    CanJam SoCal 2015 Impressions Thread

Meeting people for the first time was just as important to me as listening to gear.   That's why I purposely put only my Head-Fi user name on my badge (though it took a good 2 minutes to explain it to the guy making badges lol). No one would know me by my real name.   Next time, I vote...

On that note - Things I Wish I Had Done:   Bumped into Currawong; Bumped into Purrin; Had more time to talk to Warren; Brought the special bottle of my favorite Rum and shot glasses (I did spot that bottle in the member room, lol); Had a drink with Jason; Finished the bottle with Mike Moffat.

Well, sort of. My new friend Odin pronounced it with a similar emphasis on the first syllable, but he made the "i" sound more like a "y" than this clip.

    CanJam SoCal 2015 Impressions Thread

Regarding the Yggy/Raggy, noise, and impressions... Yes, I agree, it was noisy. And I think I understand why some people were under-whelmed. But I remain astonished, and I will attempt to explain why.   I'm an Old Guy™ in my mid 50's, with a distinctive case of Tinnitus, plus a documented...
