    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

@F208Frank: For me, Dave was the bigger upgrade. Even though I came from Hugo 2, Dave added more conviction and detail. M Scaler seems to add a bit more air and smoothness somehow, but to me I think it was a smaller change. @musickid: Off the bat, I really like how the Z1R is so comfortable...

    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

In other news, I've had Dave + M Scaler for about a year now, mostly sourcing from an Allo USBridge. It's a USB reclocker hat for their Sparky computer -- which is a lot like a Raspberry Pi. So it runs linux with the Roon Bridge software. I use Focal Stellia the most, I think, but Utopia, QDC...

    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

Some while back on this thread, a few members spoke highly of Dave of ZenWave Audio and his custom-made cables. Well, I reached out to him for a pair as well. I've been very happy with it after a year and change of really enjoying this cable directly connecting my Dave to a pair of lovely and...

    CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE

Hello, DAVErs! I'm considering a power cable upgrade. I hear good things about thicker-gauged power cables (7-9 AWG) with the DAVE, but many people report great results with the Shunyata Venom 3 (10 AWG). Still others are perfectly happy with the 14-gauge Pangea AC 14SE -- and I would imagine...

Audeze LCD i4 TOTL In-Ear Monitor Discussion

I was also considering the Lavricables option. I would love to hear impressions of it or any comparable cable. Not to be a downer, but I think that Comp4 might be a little heavy for me.

Ok, I'm very happy with this. Next move is to attach my inbound, cheap, old-school NES knockoff USB controller which will serve as the next, previous, play-toggle buttons, and maybe other things. I think I've already worked out the javascript required to interact with Roon. But the point is...

Audeze LCD i4 TOTL In-Ear Monitor Discussion

Are the Hugo2 and LCD-i4 secure in that Pelican 1060? I'm thinking that there would still be some space above them for things to jostle loose and clink against the top of the case. It seems like you would need another layer of foam on top to really secure things. (And you would lose the ability...

Chord Electronics - Hugo 2 - The Official Thread

I read some comments at least from @MacedonianHero about how well the AKG K812 (open headphone) pairs with the Hugo 2, so I'm imagining the K872 (closed headphone) will also be a great pairing... I'm interested in a great set of closed cans to plug directly into the Hugo 2 -- an all-arounder. I...

Chord Electronics - Hugo 2 - The Official Thread

So I thought I'd share my little project, still in progress. I've only assembled it. I'm still waiting for delivery of a Raspberry Pi 3 board. It has the ARMv8 CPU which is supported by Roon Bridge. (My Pi is gen 1, with a CPU that is unsupported by Roon Bridge.) We'll be using the DietPi distro...

FS: Ray Samuels Audio "The Predator" and ALO Audio Rx (Original!)

Hey everyone! I've finally decided that these two tremendous headphone amps need a new home as they're just not seeing the use they once did. Both show some signs of wear, but are certainly in good condition. Both function and sound great. The Predator is a USB dac *and* headphone amp (with the...

For sale are the brilliant Sierra-1 Reference bookshelf monitors in the glossy espresso finish. Including the $300 NrT crossover upgrade, these speakers deliver the quality to my ears. I like how they sound very clean and clear, even at low volume levels. They absolutely rock out with great...

    Android phones and USB DACs

Darn. While the Meridian Explorer does work with UARP/UAPP, CM11 is unable to use it directly for some reason. I wonder if enhancements to CM11's functionality would make it work, ever.

    Android phones and USB DACs

Though I posted my experience a couple pages ago, I'll say again out of sheer excitement. CM11 has, indeed, allowed the bits to reliably flow from my GS4 to my RSA Intruder, and I am one happy camper. This thread should be showing love to Steve & the CM crew right about now as I believe recent...

Erik, You need to mount the share first, if you go with this method. I've used CifsManager to good effect before, but for whatever reason, it's not wanting to mount my shares today [on this rom?]. (Btw, Solid Explorer is my dreamy file manager of choice.)

Limited, wooden portable ATH-ESW10JPN arrives! (with pics)

I also choose other headphones over the ESW10JPN for portable use. For me, they fairly exclusively stay at work where I use them from RSA amps. Love these Audio-Technicas. I'm interested in parting with my ATH-W3000ANV, but not the ESW10.

    A re-acquaintance with the Audio Technica ATH-ESW10JPN

Randomly found this thread. Just wanted to say that I'm still using my ESW10JPN at the office almost every day. I got them when they were first introduced, and I always really enjoy them. Great form factor. Great sound. I am using the Intruder, but anything seems to drive them just peachy.
