    crinacle's IEM Ranking List

Seems Singapore has monopolised the honest review industry :)

    crinacle's IEM Ranking List

    Actually a good idea. But will end abruptly like 1. Crinacle ... ... ... ... ;)

    crinacle's IEM Ranking List

Legend X mid bass bloat bleh! One thing I’d like to know is which m5 are you talking about. There are like several variations of it, see Crins measurements. And it’s on the market for this whole time. I would buy it myself. But don’t know what I would be buying ;)

It looks very nice to me on paper.

    crinacle's IEM Ranking List

I confirm, Z1R bass is kinda soft to me too, it'd mild and warm, it's not subbass groundshaking bass. Maybe because of extension into midbass.

    crinacle's IEM Ranking List

I would recommend ProPhile8 as the most versatile with its switches but they don't respond to emails, I tried to buy their new ProMissionX to no avail, complete lack of respect for customer IMO, so PP8 yes, but on aftermarket :) And it isolates better than the semi-open Trio for sure, also...

Shure KSE1500 Review - Shure KSE1500 Sound Isolating Electrostatic Earphones

We're talking about full silicone shells now. KSE1500 has a huge treble peak at 8-10 kHz which yes, may be attenuated by comply for sure, or it may be pushed far past 10 kHz with a very deep insert. Sensaphonics make shells like that - very deep, showing the spike past 12 kHz. Snugs... do not...

Shure KSE1500 Review - Shure KSE1500 Sound Isolating Electrostatic Earphones

I've been recommending Sensaphonics full shells for KSE1500 all over the place for the lasts 2 years, posting measurements and such. However some time ago their service went bonkers, they f-ed up my own order with one side not working (air bubble probably), had to send it back to USA again...

    Head-Fi Audio Measurement Lab

Yeah, I also wondered why at least some of the measurements are not shared with the community. How else will people learn how to read them? Crinacle currently does the best job after Tyll left. Also by killing a few myths along the way.

WTS/WTT in EU: Khan, WM1Z, "Horus" PF XG, UE18+, ApolloX, cables...

Hello! (Note: some of these prices make sense to people in the UE, as US/UE prices differ sometimes greatly) Noble Khan v2 - greatly upgraded in 2nd revision with bigger beautiful silver-shimmering set of faceplates, bigger shells printed in a different, sturdier technology, now with classic...

    crinacle's IEM FR measurement database

Guys, a funny coincidence. Have you noticed? Both are 8 BA designs. And it looks as if one company bought or copied the design from the other ;-) Only that VE8 is thicker even with the PP8 bass on. By the way, please advise me. I have QDC 8CS (CIEM) and think of selling it. Someone has to do...

CLOSED FS: RARE Final Sonorous X

https://crinacle.com/?s=tia+trio (scroll down) Unfortunately don't like the way m5 ended to be (warm, was cleaner while a prototype): https://crinacle.com/2019/12/18/graph-database-update-18-12-19/ Sonorous VIII - I had it borrowed and compared thoroughly with S-X, with my wife, we both hear...

CLOSED FS: RARE Final Sonorous X

Thanks guys! Let me tell you this, I've actually sold them several months ago, and just yesterday went to this buyer (who became my friend) and bought them back. Can't live without them. These are not neutral. These are dark-U-shaped. Clean subbass boost. Silvery sparkle on higher highs...

    crinacle's IEM Ranking List

I dunno if polar opposites. Both have a sub bass boost. Z1R is much warmer, but has a bit sucked out mids. Both are vented and semi-open. I think Khan isolates better though. Both have highs boosted, but Khan needs comply to sound right, and Z1R has tamed highs. (This kinda illustrates...

    SONY IER-Z1R

    1. IER-Z1R sounds "right" only on stock tips. I tried everything. YMMV. 2. IER-Z1R needs to be inserted deeply, past the first ear canal bend, to sound right. It's especially hard because the stock tips are very soft and wiggly. It took me some time to learn how to insert them properly. But it...

    crinacle's IEM Ranking List

I dunno. On Audio Video Show Warsaw this year I heard them for the first time (Katana and K10 don't know which, probably the newest), and I thought they sound cool. Only that K10 highs will be fatiguing for sure after a while. Actually Katana highs also. Comply Isolation needed for sure. I love...

    crinacle's IEM Ranking List

Khan on Comply Isolation, close to perfection for me: Without Comply on my IEC711 compliant mic the highs look like this: A bit too much, yeah. Optional back vent blocking (on Comply): Compare to qdc 8CS, which is also great, mind you, we see better subbass, leaner midbass (too lean for...
