    Looking for new portable headphones

Hello all,   I'm looking for an upgrade for my aging Sennheiser PX100. I've spent the better part of a day reading some of the threads comparing portable headphones on this site and I'm no closer to reaching a conclusion. Part of the problem is I haven't owned many quality headphones so don't...

Looking for replacement tips and cable for SE215

Just bought my second pair of SE215s and while I like the sound of these, the cable and tips have always been a problem for me. The cable is about half a meter too long for front pocket wear, thick and cumbersome, and the memory wire just keeps me from getting a good fit with them. As for the...

Sennheiser IE8 losing sound in right channel

That would be ideal but as I said earlier I never got a physical receipt for my earphones

Sennheiser IE8 losing sound in right channel

david, I don't live in the US. When I said I called them I was referring to Sennheiser's Dubai office. I was told on the phone that they only service full-sized headphones but to bring mine in in case they can do something for them. It turns out they couldn't, and they offered to ship them...

Sennheiser IE8 losing sound in right channel

Are you talking about their parts and accessories store? They don't list the cable for the IE8 there, unless I'm missing something. It's why I was looking for other retailers

Sennheiser IE8 losing sound in right channel

Like the title says, my IE8s are losing sound in the right channel. In fact, it's barely audible anymore. For logistical reasons I can't really send them to a workshop, so I'm checking to see if anyone's had this problem before. I have a feeling it might be a problem with the cable, but I can't...

Total computer audio beginner needs some advice

The Zero is a bit larger than I'd like. It's pretty cramped here, plus I'd like the option of tossing it in my notebook bag and using it on the go. I guess a USB powered amp/DAC is my best bet? Any suggestions for that? And what about the Indigo IOx? Actually, something like the NG27 would be...

Total computer audio beginner needs some advice

I didn't quite get all of that. Does your amp have its own DAC? Because I'm pretty sure hooking up an amp to onboard audio isn't the best idea. And if USB amps with independent power supplies are more expensive I guess I'll just get a USB powered one for now until I get those monitors. e...

Total computer audio beginner needs some advice

I've had enough of Creative, thank you very much. I'm not looking to play any games so I'd rather get something with better SQ. Tell me about the external DAC, though. Will I need an amp to go with it? And what's the advantage of a DAC over something like the Indigo IOx?

Total computer audio beginner needs some advice

As the title suggests, the most I've done with computer audio before is jam a creative sound card onto a mobo. Well, I'm now looking to get a little bit more, but I only have a laptop with an ExpressCard slot at the moment (and for the foreseeable future). So, where to start? All I know is...

Having trouble deciding what IEMs to buy...

I'm talking mostly about poorly mastered music, with compression/loudness etc. that makes the high end sound like digital mush. If the IE8 handles poor masters better I just might go for that

Having trouble deciding what IEMs to buy...

Since you seem to have both the UMX3 and the IE8, would you mind telling me which one is more likely to exhibit harshness? I read the post in your sig and they both honestly sound really enticing, but I find that my ears can't take very much at all

About 8 hours I guess, but I've read many reports that the bass on the IE8 is overwhelming

Having trouble deciding what IEMs to buy...

Alright. I usually have problems with sibilance more than other people so I guess the W3 is out, and the IE8 isn't suitable for long-term listening so that's out too. I guess it comes down to the SE530 and the UM3X. Any other alternatives I should consider?

Having trouble deciding what IEMs to buy...

I don't know about the PFE. It looks really uncomfortable to wear for any length of time, and I often wear my IEMs up to 8 hours a day, plus I usually have to run them unamped. This is actually the first I've heard of the UM3X though. Looking at the product page, it seems like they were designed...

Having trouble deciding what IEMs to buy...

Hi there! I'm looking to buy a pair of IEMs since the right channel in my Denon C700s mysteriously decided to play at half the volume of the left one. I've decided that it's time to upgrade, and I'm looking for something a bit more expensive this time. Only problem is, I can't stand...
