    FS: Topping D50 DAC

Used D50. This is a standalone DAC and will require an amp for best results. You can play into headphones directly with a RCA to 3.5mm converter cable, but the output impedance will be pretty high. Only used in an office environment. $150 US / $195 CAD or Best Offer Shipped in Canada...

https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/monoprice-monolith-thx-aaa-portable-dac-amp.5122/#post-120533 With reports of hiss, that's the death knell of this amp. Who wants a noisy amp when there's plenty of quiet, transparent options out there?

Monoprice Monolith Desktop THX Amp/DAC (#24459) - Impressions Thread

I think true balanced vs bal->se->bal has such a marginal (and clearly inaudible) difference that it shouldn't be a make or break factor in anyone's purchasing decision. So many other factors to consider first.

Monoprice Monolith Desktop THX Amp/DAC (#24459) - Impressions Thread

Pretty sure the 789 has a balanced in, converts to SE internally and then converts back to balanced for balanced HP out. Not a true fully differential balanced amp for the entire chain. Unless you're referring to the Monoprice? It could be dual-mono all the way through with the dual 788's so...

Sennheiser HD6XX on a Macbook pro.

If it sounds fine, I'd use it until I was ready to buy a DAC & Amp or a DAC / Amp combo unit.

I'll have a couple of cables sent to me to try this halfway house method of reducing ground noise on an unbalanced DAC out. Might as well lol.

Massdrop x THX AAA™ 789 Linear Amplifier - Impressions Thread

The amp itself isn't fully differential balanced anyway. Any XLR input it gets will be converted to SE within the amp and then converted back to balanced if you use the XLR output. You might as well feed RCA into the amp and let the amp do the conversion. If you had a DAC with a balanced out...

Portable Amps with Balanced and Unbalanced Inputs

I'm looking for a portable Amp without a DAC that takes both Balanced and Unbalanced inputs, something I can carry with me to use to play files from either my phone or portable DAC. Any recommendations?

    Bose QC35 Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones

The sensitivity of the QC35 is pretty low, you should have no issues driving them with a DAP in SE. I would recommend using the money you would’ve spent on such a conversion into balanced cans.

    Bose QC35 Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones

Doubt it, but why would you want to? You’re not going to get more fidelity out of those cans.
