That app doesn't appear to be 100% free though. I'd prefer Fiio just fix some of the known issues with that device that have apparently existed since the M7's release. One of them being when typing in an artist (to search for an artist), the auto search results are showing non artists listed...

there are a FiiO logo on the fron and it can display what kind of format it is play now, as you can see I am using a 3rd part music app in China and it show it is playing hi-res music right now so don't worry about this issues anymore. if there are any SRC, the logo will display blue light.

Does this apply to any android app or just the streaming ones? I'm aware that resources are limited so won't be able to install lots of apps. Just one way round the lack of audiobook/podcast support if we can install apks?

But, as I understand it, memory and power limitations of the device made you decide to offer only one application from the list. If someone decides to install more apps by installing .apk's there won't be enough resources. And does the M9 has an interface to download and install .apk's?
