I would agree, the V222 however is no slouch, some may even prefer the more mids forward non fatigue presentation of the V222 over the V550. I would also say that the V222 tends to be more compatible with headphones compared to the V550 synergy-wise.

Your HD650 will LOVE the V550, it just pushes the HD650 and makes it sound like an everyday headphone more than ever!

An obvious headphone to compare the E3 to is the ZMF Verite Closed since the VC has been around a while now and has been long analyzed for its sound signature and open-sounding nature despite also being a closed back. It is vented just like the E3 is. Someone make this comparison happen!

@OnlySoMany That is an insane story and project! The end result was something very beautiful and personal! This reminds me of the times I have went on hiking trips and walked past random burled chunks from the trees that have fallen off and imagining Calderas being made out of them!

It felt distant sounding and a bit too polite at first but the V550 somehow opened up eventually and it sounded "just right" with my Caldera. You must try the Caldera with it if you ever have a chance, it is a great pairing as well as the HD650 and HD600.
