they have never sounded worth 200 dollars to me for sure

I listened to my Traillili last night while traveling and I must say I am shocked how good these things are out of my hugo 2...at home I listen to susvara and abyss and Raal and these darn IEM's are so impressive

and I can understand why you would defend him given that your HP is pretty much the only high end HP he didnt mock for being too expensive or not as good as some inexpensive model....otherwise his site is basically a group of people who delight in mocking everyone else who deigns to spend more...

spot on...I have no problem with measurements but have a huge problem when they are the be all and end all and there is only one set of measurements that make for a good HP...the abyss measures differently than the susvara or LCD-4 etc yet some like one and some like the others...

spot on,I am not opposed to measurements but if like the ASR people you think measurements are the be all and end all you will obviously be biased in one direction or another when reading measurements before listening...reminds me of the arguments made there that a Topping amp or DAC is for sure...

I think we should have just one sound for headphones in different physical housings

all reviewers should be forced to review HP's without any measurements...give out the product to reviewers before the product goes to market without any measurements so reviewers will actually have to listen and render a judgment...measurements are a crutch other than perhaps power requirements...

the anni is not a portable amp per se,it definitely can drive the lcd-4

the more open the less bass response, I too like the wide soundstage but found a compromise where I get a fair bit of bass especially with the barnett filters and VM

the stealth was pretty much the only high end HP that guy amir seems to approve of

for fans of jeff beck and the album blow by blow which has been one of my favorite albums for longer than I care to admit...the album is a treat on the SR

the VM is a wonderful amp and does wonders for both the SR and CA IMHO

I actually wasted a bit of my time on ASR a while back and got myself banned because I dared dispute the running commentary that anyone who spent more than the cost of a Topping amp or DAC was a moron....the entire pages long thread was dedicated to mocking those who buy high end equipment and...

ASR is an iconoclastic site, they exist to essentially mock every high end expensive product ..basically anything more expensive then the Topping line is a rip off and cant possibly be better or sound better...personally I think they should be forced to review all gear without measurements...

both are phenomenal...the sr1a is great for acoustic music with space...jazz etc...the CA is great for everything and my choice for rock

sorry, that aint gonna drive the susvara or stealth properly..the stealth is almost as tough to drive as the susvara...I have the susvara and used to own the stealth

I completely agree about the susvara with the CFA3 and higher volume...it comes alive, the bass Is powerful and the soundstage expands...it is a completely different HP than it is with a less impressive amp...I know it is annoying to have so many discussions about amps with the susvara but with...

this is why I take most peoples subjective statements regarding their gear with a grain of salt...it isnt that I do not think people absolutely think they are giving an objective view but the truth is there are so many variables...what associated gear do you use?...what music do you listen...

since many HP makers actually do burn in their products before shipping them out I assume there Is some validity to it...I would assume no burn in is relevant on digital products like DAC's but I do think it does make sense that a driver might need some use before it reaches its full potential..
