I prefer the avplay to the audiolund silver (first version, which is way too bulky) but it's a matter of tonal balance. But my overall favorite is the Gustard. Haven't tried any Tubulus.- FredA

After some internet reading I decided on the somewhat more affordable Audiolund I2S cable. Built as a brick and the first impressions are very good.- bodiebill2

I have ordered this beefy HDMI cable from Singapore. It is a new product for this seller. I should get it within 2-3 week. Got a 0.5m. I hope it is not too stiff. If you want the biggest, it sure is a contender. https://audiolund.com/product/audiolund-hdmi-i2s-cable-true-silver-series-1-0m/- FredA

...U18 is a fantastic bit of kit. I’ve found the SR Purple made an incredible difference (as it did in my DAC and power amp) though also Audiolund Signature power cable for my amp and Audiolund Reference power cables for my Musician Aquarius DAC and Gustard U18. The Farad Super3 that powers my...- Matthew Willims

To be honest, i cant see why it needs to be compliant to the 50ohm spec. I have a Canare 50ohm cable, and the LMR400 and the silver audiolund cable sounded better to my ears.- shogo33

I am speaking with audiolund to create a cable for it. Once U have the right cable just plug it in. Su6 has a plug for rj45 i2s and HDMI i2s. I'm sure there's a pin configuration somewhere we can get.- atsq17

Matching impedance is required for proper square wave usage. It does not really matter for sine wave. There's good explanations as to why in the master clock thread.- Highfive99

Just my 2 cents on I2S cables: Moshou 8K Green = Gustard I2S < AV Play Solid Silver < Audiolund True Silver Series HDMI I2S/IIS/AV Cable (OCC Silver)- Crypt Keeper

...silver USB cable I’ve tried. The others have all been coax or I2S cables, also clock cables…. Surprisingly I’ve found for I2S I much prefer Audiolund XTreme…. Tinned copper cables. These should theoretically be appalling for a digital cable but in practice they just add a certain richness and...- Matthew Willims

Problem is the pinout, I cant get DSD to work with it. I have both the odin2 knockoff coax cable and the avplay cable connected and I'm A/Bing them. With PCM, the avplay cable is definitely more resolving and has a darker background. But I'm not sure if its the cable or the upgraded i2s. I...- dougms3

...in my system use Duelund copper or tinned copper mixed with either Neotech copper or in the case of speaker cables some silver. The Audiolund I2S cable unusually uses tinned copper which shouldn’t work well at all but rather sounds very natural. Typical Duelund sound signature. Basically I’ve...- Matthew Willims

...Also a great pre. I know the he-1 goes even further as a pre, but the he9 is nonetheless very very good. Speaking of meat, my new Audiolund True Silver hdmi i2s brings a meatier sound. ...it brought a tangible improvement. Same for me using the usbridge sig with a nice Zerozone psu good for 5V/4a featuring an o-core transformer. My usbridge sig is modded to accept a 5.5/2.1 connector and i use a stiff, shielded and heavy (12awg) Audiolund dc cable. Real nice upgrade all combined.- FredA

No idea if it will solve your Jriver DSD issue, but for what it is worth over in the U18 thread there's some real love for the Tubulus Argentus including from a long time BJC FE user with quite resolving gear. That's likely where I'd go if/when I want to step up from the BJC FE I'm currently using.- Jake2

USB>Toslink>AES>I2S. High end I2s is also much better than low end I2s. Tubulus Concentus/Audiolund Truesilver > AVplay300 > Blue Jeans and other HDMI (I've tried about 5 other HDMI cables so far). I'd likely pick my black dragon AES over the regular HDMI. It's pretty dang good but the high end...- phoneslave86
