ISN Earphones impression thread. New ISN NEO 5!
Not sure I understand how the adapter helps the sound, but most importantly you like it and that is all that matters!- ChoppedBroccoli

Can you shed more light your setup with the adapter? https://penonaudio.com/penon-os133-audio-adapter.html Is the adapter just a way to get your ISN H50 hooked up to your DAP or do you believe its improving the sound quality?- ChoppedBroccoli

Anyone feel like the ISN H50's clarity doesn't peek through until you really crank the volume?- ChoppedBroccoli

ISN Earphones impression thread. New ISN NEO 5!
I couldn't sit tight any longer and removed the filter grill on the ISN H50 to check it out. Here is what I found... ISN H50 has no dampener screen behind the grill ISN H50 has sound tubes straight to the grill ISN H50 stock filter grilles do not seem to block or alter the sound at all So I...- ChoppedBroccoli

ISN Earphones impression thread. New ISN NEO 5!
I've been rocking the ISN H50 the last 2 weeks (connected to a Fiio LC-BT2 LDAC BT neckband). I still have my ISN H40s with modded grille filter replacements. I find the the sub-bass and bass to be significantly more refined and faster on ISN H50 vs the ISN H40. For the rest of the frequency...- ChoppedBroccoli

ISN Earphones impression thread. New ISN NEO 5!
I was finally able to get to this today. Grabbed filter grills that are less restrictive than the stock ISN H40 ones from an unused set of SoundMagic ES18 headphones and popped them in the ISN H40. Like @DynamicEars and others said...this is a great mod! I'm not one to claim sounds differences...- ChoppedBroccoli

Have you ordered these specific ones for the ISNH40? I'm hearing from this thread I need 4.7mm size (and Penon themselves said that [https://penonaudio.com/5-pairs-of-in-ear-earphone-filter-grill.html] does not fit the ISN H40.- ChoppedBroccoli

ISN Earphones impression thread. New ISN NEO 5!
Funny thing - my ISN H40s sounded like an entire BA driver failed on each and Penon suggested I pop open the grills. Sure enough that fine mesh had clogged - ear wax and glue had combined into some weird blue gunk. When I remove the grills entirely the sound is not only restored, but there is a...- ChoppedBroccoli

ISN Earphones impression thread. New ISN NEO 5!
I recently picked up a pair of the ISN H40's used off on headfi forums. When I got them I saw they have a blue/purple color in natural daylight, and with indoor light/night time they look black. Every picture I see online shows the ISNH40 as black shells so I was very confused. Had to look at...- ChoppedBroccoli

iBasso IT00 and AM05 Two very different IEMs with one purpose, to Enjoy the Music!
Yeah I thought the IT00 treble seemed a little forced in slightly the wrong frequency range personally too. Metallic or tinny was the word I used too, but not sibiliant by any means. It didn't go away for me after 50-100 hours of listening, but I loved the warm IT00 signature overall. I ended up...- ChoppedBroccoli

Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread
I'm sticking with my Shozy Form 1.1 over the ZAX, but I had 100% the same feeling and this is an important distinction. I REALLY liked the ZAX for lower volume listening (music and podcasts too). I was thinking this earlier, but personally I think it would be really cool if an EQ adjusted based...- ChoppedBroccoli

Personally I found the ZAX more neutralish, bright, and airy than the Tin T2+. Can't comment on the Tin T2- ChoppedBroccoli

Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread
Yeah if I were to do TWS style, I would do something like the TRNBT20. These little ear batteries are so small that once they start losing capacity they will be useless quick. Personally, I went with the Fiio LC-BT2 neckband + Fiio FH3 for my desk because it has ridiculous ~20hr battery, a...- ChoppedBroccoli

Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread
I found the ZAX to be pretty comfortable. Lightweight and the stock large size tips gave me a good seal at medium insertion depth (didn't need to jam them in my ears). Seems like they would stick in even while moving/light exercise.- ChoppedBroccoli

Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread
Used the stock cable, then also used the Shozy Form 1.1 all copper cable. Didn't notice a difference. I used some microtape to half cover the nozzle filter. Definitely helped take out some of the extra energy in the treble a little bit, but in the end its personal preference for me - I like my...- ChoppedBroccoli

Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread
Just got the KZ ZAX today, initial impressions... (+) The treble peak and forwardness makes them feel airy and open, and has a wide sound stage. Its a pretty lively listen overall. (+) The bass is pretty controlled but has presence when called for. Its fast, not bloated, doesn't bleed into the...- ChoppedBroccoli

ISN Earphones impression thread. New ISN NEO 5!
Got a chance to try everything on my list except the KZ ZAX. Surprisingly, the Shozy Form 1.1 are the clear winner for my taste so far. (my thoughts on them here) I personally found the 1.1's to be a nice blend of the FH3's treble and detail with the bass impact and warm vocals and mids of the...- ChoppedBroccoli

Shozy IEM impression/appreciation thread (in particular Pola owners)
Just picked up a set of the Shozy Form 1.1 and I am really enjoying them so far. For context, I have the Fiio FH3 for my desk while I work (which I like, albeit just ever so slightly lacking character to me). I had the iBasso IT00 for on the go, which I liked for their mids and character but...- ChoppedBroccoli

ISN Earphones impression thread. New ISN NEO 5!
I have the FH3 and used some older pliable/soft silicone SoundMagic tips I had laying around from 8 years ago. The seal is better than the stock tips and because the material is so light, the stock tips the sound a bit dark in comparison. But I do notice that after a few days they start coming...- ChoppedBroccoli

ISN Earphones impression thread. New ISN NEO 5!
Funny - I tried the EA1, IT00, and FH3 in succession and I had pretty much exactly the same thoughts on the sound signatures of each. EA1 was good, but missing some treble extension, IT00 had great character and better treble extension than EA1 but the treble was just a bit off for me, and FH3...- ChoppedBroccoli

Thanks! Super helpful from both of you. Yeah that is a good point - everything I hear about the Urbanfun YBF sounds like at its best it will sound FH3 like, which is a gamble and maybe not as fun having a different sound in my second IEM. And Tin T2+ - does it have some mids+vocals character...- ChoppedBroccoli

ISN Earphones impression thread. New ISN NEO 5!
I wouldn't say I am a treble head, in fact I prefer warm forward mids/vocals with clean but present bass + sub bass. I just want 'enough' clarity/sparkle. The Fiio FH3 has just enough for me treble/sparkle so if the D02 moves closer to that maybe it could work - or maybe I won't be able to find...- ChoppedBroccoli
