I have this same setup + HMS and WAVE Storm's. To me there is zero need for an amp. Plus above 0 it is LOUD. I just finished listening to the remaster of Pigs on Animals and the middle section bass goes so low my teeth rattle. Many on this thread def have "audio-itis" and can't leave well enough...

I've had these a year and a half. The past ten days I have heard what I'd best describe as sub bass where it felt like the room shook a bit to the bass. Crazy great. I know that when I moved from the Hugo TT2 to DAVE+MScaler the bass which was already superb in every way was taken up significantly.

Anyone tried the Matrix Audio X SPDIF 3 for optical to MScaler to DAVE? Looks interesting but I know NOTHING about optical other than the above reading.

What are the Green wave hole LED's? I came home, DAVE on and LED's were Red. Switched off then on and back to green. Seems like running fine. All I can think is somehow it overheate and shut down?
