HiFiMan Susvara
Bought the Susvara to A/B/C compare with the D8000 Pro LE and Abyss 1266 Phi TC…. Haven’t gotten to compare yet cause I can’t put the Susvara down 😂 It’s a strangely good and addicting sound. Certainly there are headphones that are better than it in different specific aspects, but I would say...- Chronos

Fostex TH900 Impressions & Discussion Thread
So if I want the hardest hitting bass TH900, stick with the red mk2 and stay away from the special colors like blue sapphire, white, and purple?- Chronos

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")
Recently got my D8000 Pro LE, first initial impressions regarding only bass is that it doesn’t come anywhere near 1266 Phi TC levels. I was hoping for a harder hitting subbass but that wasn’t there. The only thing it has is slightly better bass texture but the TC has way more bass quantity...- Chronos

The Watercooler -- Impressions, philosophical discussion and general banter. Index on first page. All welcome.
Been exploring Hi-fi full size headphones lately and eliminated my IEM collection down to 2. 1. Annihilator (late 2022, is that same as 2023?) 2. XE6 3. Odyssey (Distant 3rd since I sold it) Recently hooked up the Annihilator w/Brise Yatano Ultimate to Holo Bliss KTE and Holo Spring 3...- Chronos

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")
Definitely worth trying since they’re excellent overall, but I should clarify that it doesn’t have a large quantity of bass overall, it just hits hard really low. Overall it is a pretty balanced sound with excellent clarity and reproduction of instruments. Also, I could not drive them well...- Chronos

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")
I felt like I should mention, I had an experience demoing DCA Expanse on a WA33 where I could consistently feel the bass hit in my chest. The sound is so clean I didn't realize at first why it felt like it was hitting so hard. None of the other headphones I demoed that day could reproduce it...- Chronos

Nothing moves air like the Abyss 1266 TC. You can literally feel it. It’s the closest to a speaker subwoofer experience in a headphone. No EQ necessary, it’s not just about the bass with these.- Chronos

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")
Look in the Caldera thread, Zach himself said he didn’t tune the Caldera to slam at all and is tuned to have a completely flat bass. We’re talking about headphones that slam in this thread, not quality of bass. I think your suggestions of quality bass can be misleading. Caldera has a...- Chronos

Sorry but no, not Caldera, I’ve owned and sold them. Even Zach himself has clearly stated they’re tuned to have perfectly flat bass.- Chronos

What's the best USB audio cable for the money?
Would the adapters defeat the purpose of upgrading the USB cable since the adapters will be of lesser quality? Or I guess theoretically the connection is so short that it doesn’t matter- Chronos

What's the best USB audio cable for the money?
Like others before me, can anyone recommend a budget USB C to USB B cable but needs to be around 5-6 feet (1.5 - 2 m)? There doesn’t seem to be many options. Only ones I’ve seen are Oyaide d+ neo class B, Audioquest Forest Cinnamon and Carbon.- Chronos

Holo Audio Bliss
Well I kept it general to see what kind of responses I get. Even from XLR or RCA, etc. What if I want a simple premade XLR interconnect? Is it possible to find that somewhere? I didn’t see much on Amazon and some websites except for microphone ones so I’d have to purchase 2 one for right...- Chronos

Holo Audio Bliss
So I did some digging and it seems like I wasn’t using the Line out on the DAP properly and was amping the headphones out circuit instead. It’s all fixed now and I’m listening to the 1266 TC with the DAC at 4v output and Bliss at Lo-Z -4 to 0 gain. 😂 Thanks for all the help! Much better and...- Chronos

Thanks so much for your insight, I was actually hoping you would weigh in since I had read your measurements on these 2 amps but was confused on my situation. I guess essentially it was just a gain difference throwing me off.- Chronos

Holo Audio Bliss
Just got my Bliss and am having volume issues. Essentially I have to listen to it whether on Hi-Z or Low-Z at max volume with my Abyss 1266 TC. Yes I recognize my DAP is a bottleneck as a source but I could use my Cayin N8ii at 75 - 85 volume with the Cayin IHA-6 amp and set the IHA-6 amp to...- Chronos
