I started to have a feeling with some part of "audiophile" community that even if they were to write their reviews about toasters, "Project Red" would win for them there as well:)- PhonoPhi

I finally received 1More Penta (took exactly a month....) Accessories are a mixed bag. I had to change the cable for the one without ear guides, only then the fit and comfort could work. The DAC looks small and very generic, and a good zipper case could be expected, given MRSP. The shells are...- PhonoPhi

Did cable A/B tests worked the same blind? My experience is that the better coloured or fancier knobbed cables typically sound fuller, more musical, more expressive, provide a better dynamic range, accentuates the positives snd even improves the taste of food/drinks... While testing blind -...- PhonoPhi

Cool! What about a variable balanced impedance adapter, as an ultimate load tuning tool? Several different modules can be made. One module, aimed at bud and headphone tunung, can incorporate two variable resistors on each channels: first from 0 to 100 Ohm, and possibly second added in series...- PhonoPhi

Again, I hope KZ can make ZAX with a tighter DD like in Kryla or Castor. The balance can be delicate, hopefully switches will help with fine-tuning to individual preferences. As for the Truthear, I am personally not sure how much KZ should go there into the "tuning by the curve". I have Hola...- PhonoPhi

Everyone hears differently. Some hear curves, amazing :) Did Castor sound "non-Harman" in all 4-switch positions? I though that was one of the main good points of KZ to implement multiple switches not to totally lock people in their non-favourable tuning (like Hexa for me). To my simple...- PhonoPhi

There are positive opinion of bass lovers here about the bass edition :) My take is that if for the standard in up, up & down, down configuration - more bass may be needed, then that is roughly where the bass version starts in down, down & up, up and it can bring bass a couple of notches...- PhonoPhi

I appreciate your comment, and I hope to be incorrect (leaving it simply this way, not getting into my previous experience). I'll put more later in this comment on how I experienced that cables can matter a lot - the question is only where and how to draw the line in, absolitely, our very...- PhonoPhi

I really like your comments, and I learned a lot about business, marketing and humans that I greatly appreciate. So I dare to address 3., as science questions. The science of electrical signal transmission is completely (and it is a strong statement that can be used here) understood, e.g...- PhonoPhi

I understand your point, but coming from old KZs and finding great use (and enjoyment) in IEMs like, CCA A10, I would most definitely be OK with Pianist's treble. Listening experience comes from the music one listens to, sources, IEM and then personal hearing, anatomy, and preferences. I listen...- PhonoPhi

Great find! Congrats and enjoy! I am sure you will. I am not sure whether foams work well for this gentle tuning (?) Then the sources (and proper cables for them) - absolutely make a difference! OK with a decent $10-$20 dongles, and even some $30-50 DACs, but can do much better! I was really...- PhonoPhi

Sounds great, looking forward to it! I got both - here is my brief comparison. To my preference, it is definitely standard/Harman - just totally amazing not only for under $15, and $20-25 (that, again, where its not promotional price would be), and it is at the level to me, where it can be one...- PhonoPhi

Here is a brief comparison of Castors (bass and standard) and EDAs (bass and balanced), and few more IEMs - happened to be Fiio F5 and FD11, KZ D-fi and Blon03. Sure, I will be happy to compare, please give me 1-2 days. EDA can be now a step or two away from Castors being double DDs, with useful switches, while their $12-14 are more of KZ promotion or messaging/signaling ($20-25 would be more expected price along D-Fi lines). I remember EDA balanced...- PhonoPhi

The polishing cloth for musical instruments can be helpful to return the shine, make sure to wipe carefully after. Polishing just with the clean cotton/flannel cloth may work fine. Preventing would require using some chemicals - that may not be good/practical given ear insertion.- PhonoPhi

Not delving into your definitions and notions of objectivity... could you please kindly name three Penon products that you have ever criticized (all Penon products can't be great, right - that is even stronger than "objectivity" - that is "reality", our "friend")) A good question. OK. Let's consider the case of changing the sound of an IEM by some cable, and in absence of scientific evidence (other than cable impedances), it needs to be done from a beleiver's perspective. Believers clearly base their experience on subjective personal feelings, such as "I hear this way...- PhonoPhi

I have similar very positive opinion about 1More Triple. It is still an old "beater" IEM on my home desk (really looks like a beater, but managing to survive against many odds after 5+ years). For no super "good reason", some engineers find reasonable similarities between acoustic and electrical impedances in the resistance to energy flow. But then the acoustic impedances are better cited as "acoustic Ohms" to avoid any confusion, like in your case, since the real units of acoustic...- PhonoPhi

"Gold- infused" sound like marketing materials, not scientific. Why do you ask me to look? What is not "real gold"?
