FatFreq Maestro SE - The King of Top of the Line Bass?
Wish their communication was better. My first time bringing up a problem they replied 2 weeks later. They happily sent me an invoice to ship it to them but after it was delivered I had to email them twice and they got back to me a week and a half later. Both times they happened to "miss" my...- galangerz

Shanling UP5 - Our new flagship portable Bluetooth DAC/AMP
I disassembled mine accidentally. Had it vhb double side taped to my PC, when I took it off too quickly I ripped out the glass back xD glued it back on but it was interesting to see the internals. Not sure if it's enough access for the button tho- galangerz

Best IEM tips?
Couple months. First used with the traillii because I was craving some more bass. It did the job but kinda veiled what I loved about it's mids and highs. Eventually I just got the Maestro Mini for all my bass cravings and when I use those tips it's just overkill. Not a pairing I use for at-home...- galangerz

FATfreq Impressions Thread - Bass Cannons and More
Been heavily enjoying the MM these past few days :) Adequate packaging which isn't flashy but practical. I do like the 3D-printed desiccant canister. I liked the TRI Clarion tips it came with so much I bought another set for the bird. Tames the bass quite a bit but opens up the top end...- galangerz

Best overall ear tips for IEM's
My favorites for my traillii are: FAudio Instrument - good sub bass. warm alternatives would be the spinfit cp500 or the Final Audio E-series, both of which I find more comfortable Radius Deep Mount - I haven't tried the white/clear ones, only the black. emphasizes detail. bass is still good but...- galangerz

FatFreq Maestro SE - The King of Top of the Line Bass?
Not a fan of the grand. was too sharp, and because of that, i couldn't listen to it loud enough to notice the bass. Luckily though, AFAIK they are still adjusting the tuning of the grand (and the se and mini to an extent) based on user input. might change down the line :)- galangerz

FatFreq Maestro SE - The King of Top of the Line Bass?
They told me they're working on a large bulk order for one of their customers, and the usual lead time for their universals went from 7 days to 3 weeks if i ordered that day. that was a week ago so maybe 2 weeks from now- galangerz

Cayin N8 TOTL DAP: KORG Nutube, Dual AK4497, 4.4mm phone/line out
I'm loving my N8. I demoed it next to an SP1000, SP2000 and M17 and I preferred it. The A&K were brighter which for me saturated the highs too much. the M17 I would consider if I were using headphones. But the N8 Balanced was warmer, had more room to breathe, and still had all the detail I could...- galangerz

Luxury & Precision (LP) Portable USB DAC/AMP W1 and W2 (The new W2-131 Version is Available, Related Info on Post #1)
I have this as well. Only noticed in bass region where some kicks would turn into some alien UFO sound effect. Decided to just turn EQ off and enjoy the stock sound. I haven't tried it in any other volume than between 35 and 45. sorry if that doesn't help- galangerz

@stin8x Yeah for that one, you plugged it right. You can even see the arrows pointing which way output is. as for the volume, for iphones it should be set to max, and volume adjustments are done on dongle. like you said, the audio drops out when volume is too low, w2 needs more juice, so max it- galangerz

Shanling UP5 - Our new flagship portable Bluetooth DAC/AMP
Noticed this on my still 1.6.0. Eventually just got used to fixed volume on UP5 and adjusting volume on phone. Weirdly for mine, if you keep scrolling down the volume, it eventually shoots from 0 - 100, as if its cycling, but only downward. had the shock of my life when my phone call got blasted...- galangerz

Can you use the microphone while using it as a USB DAC on PC? or is that only reserved for Bluetooth? And also is it worth updating from 1.6.0 to 1.6.3?- galangerz

Does brand name actually mean anything in the headphone/iem space at all?
I'd also add it matters when you look at their reputation. If you're the kind of person that wants to be loyal to a brand and have their products for a long time, their reputation for build quality, quality control, and customer service may sway you one way or another. Some people may settle...- galangerz
