ThieAudio Signature Series Tribrid IEMs
I have tried the RSV and it honestly lacks resolution and micro-details. Lovely tuning but without those it just gets boring even dull very soon. No experience with the og Oracle (looks good for vocals on graph) but the Monarch 2 (great mids resolution) is a very good tuning option for vocals. I...- Yanec

100% agree on the MMk3 bass. Currently it's my favorite too, together with the VE x AK Aura (similar bass quality at 4x the price) and the UE RR (a totally different tool).- Yanec

My 5c is that you didn't miss much. They all have that pina gain scoop that makes many things sound strange and unnatural. (I won't get back to my 3db=$2 million violin example I promise, but it's very applicable to this case! 🤣) The bone-conductor isn't compensating that. That's why I like...- Yanec

Hahaha, I am just joking man! 😄 I am a huuge fan of most gear I try or have, not just the MMk3. I am a fan of the MMk2 too. I am not a fanboy of a MMk3 tuning vs MMk2 signature either. I like trying different tunings, often based on mood and genre. Today I was listening to the Mest Mk2...- Yanec

An AliExpress Chinese violin and a Stradivarius sound the same on the Sony. On the Monarch one can clearly tell them apart. Why? Well, a Stradivarius has 2-4 db more energy at 3Khz and the Sony just crushes it. A narrow use case but describes well the different approach to the tuning.- Yanec

From my personal comparison if the Z1R and the Monarch 3: - Bass: Z1R is super-basshead in terms of quantity but is behind in terms of bass speed, control and decay. It is too bassy for certain genres, so not universal. The Monarch has a great texture, tonal variety and accuracy in the bass. -...- Yanec

ThieAudio font is very simplified and it really isn't noticeable in real life unlike my close-up photo here. That Okavango gold on green is much more visible and the italic font is quite "fancy" unlike the one on the Monarch. The materials also look quite different. But that's normal given the...- Yanec

On certain faceplates it is not even noticeable. On my Monarch 3 you can't even see it from one step away. 🥸- Yanec

Precog's IEM Reviews & Impressions
Congrats! I am think of getting a pair myself. Really interested to read your impressions 1. How are the mids sounding? Are they feeling recessed or partially recessed? 2. Is the tuning similar to an iem like the Monarch Mk3 where you have both outstanding bass and also great mids? 3. How is...- Yanec

Thieaudio Monarch MKIII impressions, reviews, and pictures thread
I really enjoy how it performs. It provides both physical rumble in the sub bass and dynamic punch in the mid bass. Very nuanced and textured. When the decay in the recording is short it is very fast and clean. But most importantly it does it while keeping clear off the mids and vocals. A single...- Yanec

Compared to the Monarch II the Monarch III mid bass sounds quite prominent and is much more engaging 😄 To me, it strikes an excellent balance between being too weak and starting to impact the monitor-like mids.- Yanec

Don't worry. Anything above 20khz: 1. Is not audible or perceptable, at all. 2. Contains no musical/sound info, not even harmonics. 3. Is not included in mastering and records. If it is for foolish tech-marketing reasons it contains just unaudiable noise.- Yanec

Rolls-Royce's director of design after 25 years designing for the UK Monarchy decided to move to work in China several years ago. In other words - buy ChiFi the real Monarch is there now. 😹 Mk2 was the Rolls-Royce, Mk3 is exactly your RollerGhini.🚘- Yanec

There is one key point worth repeating: the Monarch's strength is in the mids, and the Crimson while an excellent iem is a different beast with different tuning. We can compare the luxury of a Rolls-Royce with the speed of a Lamborghini but it is up to one's preference what is more interesting...- Yanec

The Mk2 is not a candidate in your case for sure. After the Z1R its bass will be just a placeholder marking there is sound at that frequency. The Mk3 has a very decent amount of bass and treble no matter that it remains a Monarch with its mid focus expertise.- Yanec

ThieAudio Monarch MKII Experience
Sorry for the off-top, which headphones sound similar to the Mk3 or Mk2? I am looking for what you just described but with the combination of good bass and gorgeous detailed mids at the same time. And I am completely incompetent in headphones, I just know I don't like the bass of Sennheiser HD 800.- Yanec
