SoundMAGIC HP100/HP150 Review and Impressions Thread
I got the shure 840 first, too. But returned them, and I now have the HP100. I would say it kinda depends on how much you're prepared to modify, and if it’s even a problem for you. If I got the 840 I would definitely be modding the headband, and getting some velour pads for them. I don’t...- NinjaVsNinka

SoundMAGIC HP100/HP150 Review and Impressions Thread
Well, It should be doable, but does it stay on? I mean It doesn't have the locking mech I guess? And I would actually prefere a coiled cable, but with a bit longer traight part, so the coiled part could lay on the table, only.- NinjaVsNinka

SoundMAGIC HP100/HP150 Review and Impressions Thread
So I got my HP100 today. A few notes: Sound is great, read the review for more detal on this. It get's a bit hot in here, and it's winter:) But I will probably try out the Beyerdynamic velour pads i have lying around. And though the headband is far better than the shur 840, it's not amazing...- NinjaVsNinka

Dedicated DAC vs Audio Interface?
My problem is, that I have a focusrite 2i2 which is nice and has output for monitors. But Now I'm getting a pair of sound magic HP100, which I hear need a little more power to drive well, and I'm afraid, that the focusrite can't deliver the needed power to drive them well. So now I'm thinking...- NinjaVsNinka

SoundMAGIC HP100/HP150 Review and Impressions Thread
I sure hope so:) By the way, I read a lot about the recommendation of a amp for them. My setup at this time i a focusrite scarlett 2i2 and presonus HP4 amp. The idea was to have the audio interface for some light (at some point) plying around with some music, and the amp for a headphone...- NinjaVsNinka

I had the same idea for 0,5 sec... But it would in any sense be a poor solution. But thanks for the input.- NinjaVsNinka

SoundMAGIC HP100/HP150 Review and Impressions Thread
Hi. I just decided to keep the shure 840 (see http://www.head-fi.org/t/702179/why-i-chose-shure-shr840-and-not-akg-271-beyer-770-990-250-ath-m50 ) , until I stumbled upon these HP100, and this review. So I just returned 840, as there were a few issues I wasn’t happy with. I’ll be ordering...- NinjaVsNinka

Why I chose Shure SHR840, and not AKG 271, Beyer 770, 990, 250; ATH-M50...
First of all, I’m not well versed in the headphone sound terminology and I haven’t made this kind of written review/run through before, so bare with me. I use my headphones a lot, therefore a decent pair of headphones is a must. I listen to all music genres, and I want to be able to pick up all...- NinjaVsNinka

YASHM: Yet Another Shure SRH840 Headband Mod!
Ok great, thanks. Do you know if a pair of 1840 pads would work as well, and is there any difference in the 940 and 1840 pads?- NinjaVsNinka

What are the velour pads? As far as I know, you can't get pads specific for 840?- NinjaVsNinka

My Shure 840 Mod - Warning! Lots of pictures.
Ahh ok I see. So it should be very doable:) I will definitely be modding my pair, Probably with the 650 pad, and maybe some custom leather. But I wont be doing anything with the next two weeks (period of possible return). But in a month or two, I’ll give it a go I think.- NinjaVsNinka

Shure SRH840. Impressions & it's awful headband!
Just got my 840s today, and within 20 min. I knew I was gonna mod them. Looks nice and comfy with the 650 head padding, might be the way to go.- NinjaVsNinka

My Shure 840 Mod - Warning! Lots of pictures.
What you mean, when you say “It's an easy mod, somewhat dangerous but the weight reduction makes it worth it“ how come it's dangerous?- NinjaVsNinka

The Beyerdynamic DT250 Thread
Great thread, haven’t gone through it all yet, though. I'll probably be getting a pair of DT-250-250 tomorrow to try out. Hoping for a better experience than the DT-770 pro. I’ll post my experience with the 250’s if and when I get my hands on them.- NinjaVsNinka

Beyerdynamic Dt250 vs shure srh840 a brief comparison
Thanks to Bookaboo, for the run-through. I was contemplating getting the Shure srh840, after having used the DT 770 – 250 for a couple of weeks. Not the DT were bad, but… I’ll probably make a threat going through my experience, with the different headphones I went through these last two weeks...- NinjaVsNinka
