Lotoo PAW S1 - Designed for HIFI on the go with Lotoo PAW quality and the first USB DAC-AMP with dual 3.5mm & 4.4mm output
So I have listened to both the S1 and the Hip DAC for about a week or two now and I have some more thoughts about the two. The Hip DAC has an audible noise floor when using with sensitive IEM's out of the balanced 4.4. From what I've heard, this can be mitigated using the 3.5 mm output which is...- JohnPham

Wanted to also chime in and say I haven't heard any interference/noise from the S1 with my MacBook Pro/Final B3/4.4mm balanced port set up.- JohnPham

Lotoo PAW S1 - Designed for HIFI on the go with Lotoo PAW quality and the first USB DAC-AMP with dual 3.5mm & 4.4mm output
So I got the Lotoo S1 yesterday and just received the iFi Hip DAC about an hour ago. I have been A/B'ing the two units for about half an hour now with my pair of Final Audio B3 IEM's which are a relatively neutral set of IEM's out of the 4.4 balanced output on both DAC's. My initial impressions...- JohnPham

I have both the Lotoo S1 and the iFi Hip DAC on the way and can share impressions and comparisons between the two devices if anyone is interested. From what I have read about the S1 so far it seems pretty promising and can't wait to test it out- JohnPham

Final Audio Design Impressions and Discussion Thread
Hi all, fellow B3 owner here and I'm really enjoying the sound signature and tonality of the B3. I'm looking to invest in a pair of open-back cans. Does anyone here know of any cans that sound similar to the B3's? I'm looking into the ZMF Aeolous since I've heard positive reviews of the sound.- JohnPham

Looking into buying a DAP to pair with my Final B3's and narrowed it down to either the FiiO M11 Pro or the Sony NW-ZX507. Has anyone here have experience with either of these DAP's with the B3? From what I read, I hear that the M11 pro is more on the brighter side while the ZX507 is more...- JohnPham

Does anyone have any amp/dac recommendations that pair well with the B3's, I had the chord mojo powering them but it was a little too warm for my taste. I was looking at the FiiO BTR5 since I heard it was relatively clean and measures well. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!- JohnPham

Final Audio Design Impressions and Discussion Thread
I bought both the B1 and B3 a while back to test and I think the B3 would be better suited for your music tastes. In my opinion, Final Audio tuned the B3's to better fit Japanese/asian audiophile preferences and music. The B3 excels in the mid frequencies with emphasis on vocal clarity. The...- JohnPham

I have the B3's and have been powering them with the mojo and I also leave the volume around the red level on the mojo. But I also listen to music pretty loudly so I think this might be on the louder side.- JohnPham

Sennheiser IE800 IEM's
I had a 17xxx one before with no cable hardening. I think that depends on your individual sweat composition. The reason I wanted to get an older model was because I think they tuned the sound differently in the newer models. The current one I have (38xxx) is much more neutral than my 17xxx I had...- JohnPham

NEW 2015 - HIFIMAN HE400S
From the beginning I had a similar experience but I recommend at least 200-300 hours of burn in. It takes a while to get used to because the original HE-400 and HE-400i are very different cans. I also noticed the amp I used for the HE-400 does not work well for my HE-400i and I used the magni...- JohnPham

NEW 2015 - HIFIMAN HE400S
I never said HE-400S is V-shaped, just more so than the HE-400i. Bass has more slam and treble more extension hence More V shaped. But the quality isnt the same as the HE-400i. The reason He-400s has slightly better soundstage is because of the treble extension. But IMO HE-400i is still better to me- JohnPham

NEW 2015 - HIFIMAN HE400S
IMO the HE-400S and HE-400i are amazing headphones that sound similar but the HE-400i IMHO is clearly the winner. Sure the HE-400S has better soundstage and more of a V shaped frequency that's lively, but the HE-400i still wins in the quality. Think LCD-2 and LCD-3. The HE-400i has better...- JohnPham

Review by 'JohnPham' on item 'HiFiMAN HE-400i'
A little background before I start. I'm 16 years old and I slowly began to become addicted to fine, audiophile-quality headphones. I remember the first time I heard beats at an apple store. I thought they were amazing until I heard my friend's HE-400. Those blew me away and my whole perception...- JohnPham
