Chinese / Asian Brand Info Thread (On or Over Ear Headphones)
Couldn't find your listing, but I found this one from the same seller (Teacher Tang's DIY store :dt880smile:): https://www.taobao.com/list/item/684278408455.htm Seems to be the fou-42 (non pro) Quite low price for the ones I found (about 85$), lowest I've seen for a planar, but I might be...- Mullle Meck

Found this in this thread, I would suggest you transplant the entire driver plate into a new shell. The driver itself I believe is 97mm x 76mm, same as sendy avia.- Mullle Meck

I am not quite sure what you mean but I understand it as: you want to transfer the drivers from your pair of hf580 into this casing. Is this correct? It doesn't say on the page but I believe the casing is for round dynamic drivers only (albeit 70mm is unusual). The plate with the orthodynamic...- Mullle Meck

Just wanted to post a quick update on my modded okcsc zx-1. At the moment I run my special-sauce pads (phillips shp-890 with akg k550 foam) and where these before would create an increadibly bass heavy headphone, i have experimented with blocking the rear ports of the driver with hockey-tape...- Mullle Meck

Let me guess, it sounds like you are in the middle of this barrel? The first radial mode/resonance of a circular duct (coinciding with the sound source being in the middle) is described by f=3.84/pi*c/d. Where f is the frequency, c is the speed of sound and d is the diameter of the duct/barrel...- Mullle Meck

You might have some luck with a single lap of hockey tape where the pads are mounted to the headphone. This will also increase the seal.- Mullle Meck

Well, some times you want music to sound distant, such as classical. And for 24$ I am willing to be limited to such music with them, since I already have other more intimate headphones. It kinda depends tho on how they sound other than "distant"- Mullle Meck

Nice, can't wait for further sound description. I have mostly moved out of this price class but these seem so unique that I might just pick up a pair.- Mullle Meck

Looks awesome, do you do calculations or acoustic simulations to get a good frequency response or a trial and error process to make it sound good?- Mullle Meck

That is a whole science and two different headphones can react very differently to the same pads. One thing that is true most of the time is that the denser (or covered in pleather) the pad, the more the region below 500hz shoots up- Mullle Meck

Anyone know if there is like a goodie bag of headphone pads from china? Would love to make my modding adventures easier by just having a crap ton of pads to swap with and because of static import fees, ordering single pairs are expensive- Mullle Meck

Takstar HF 580 Planar Headphones
That is one definiton. I usually try to keep with: 20-200Hz is bass, 200-2000hz is mid range and 2000-20000Hz is treble. Then also 2x-5x hz is the low of a section (for example 200hz to 500hz is the low midrange), 5x-10x hz is the mid subpart and 10x-20x hz is the high subpart. I use this...- Mullle Meck

Just look at my FR plot on the previos page, it depends on what you mean by bright. This headphone has a non-warm mid range and quite a bit of high treble energy so that may be what some people refer to. I wouldn't describe it personally as "dark" though (not in the same way i thought the hd700...- Mullle Meck

The sound of these two is differently tilted, so a direct comparison is hard. As for the cable; it's fine. i have no issues with the cable, it's thick and rubber but sturdy. You can easily run it over with a chair- Mullle Meck

From what I have read, the gl2000 (to simplify a bit) sound like a high end planar headphone. Good thing that segment is starting to come down in price. Most likely would the extra magnet layer have the largest influence on the time spectra (damping), but I guess the extra layer might be in the...- Mullle Meck

Dude, I feel your pain, had a mild heart attack a few days ago. Thought it would be a good idea to clean the drivers of my sennheiser hd590's. What parts of the graph do you mean correspond to soundstage? The only test I know of is that test rtings do with and without the silicone ear. The 700hz resonance I would believe is a structural resonance since it is so sharp, the only method I have seen in this thread to fix it was that dude...- Mullle Meck
