    M1060c- open soundstage mod

Dang! I got rid of my M1060C because I really enjoy the sound stage of my modded M1060, despite liking everything else (minus weight) of the M1060C. Now I want to get another pair to try this out!

I would recommend ZMFs pads. Which pad depends on your preferred sound signature. But the ZMF pads will add comfort and soundstage regardless of what pad you choose. Brainwavz round pads are a good budget alternative. A lot of people go with the Sony MDR-XB500 pads, but I feel these muddy up the...

For custom cables, most people get an XLR cable and braid the cores and sleeve them with the fabric from paracord. As far as connectors, 2.5mm mono plugs like these (https://www.amazon.com/CESS-2-5mm-Solder-Audio-Connector/dp/B01G0NEUMY/) for plugging into the headphones if it is a V2. if it is...

Here is another FR Graph comparing the Sundaras with the Phantoms from Hifiguides forum Once again it is very different from the other 2 FR graphs. There are similarities like the dip starting at 1-2k, but you can't judge a headphone just by the FR graph alone. ... Sorry made a mistake on...

    thieaudio phantom information?

FR graphs really are there just for reference. Depending on the rig and how the headphone is secured on the rig you can get crazy variance in the results. For example here is the FR graph on the Linsoul Page for the Phantoms. As you can see it is way different from the one the guy on...

I applied glue to the grill, stretched the fabric to the width of the grill, and then applied the grill onto the material and clamped it down. I waited for the glue to dry and then used an exacto knife to cut the excess material around the grill.

It's the fabric behind the grills you need to remove. They don't let the drivers breath enough. If you can't get the audeze vegan pads I would recommend the ZMF oval suedes as a good alternative.

I never had a problem running either off my Oppo HA-2 or the Radsone EarStudio ES100 for that matter. I haven't done a comparison between the 2 recently, but from memory, I believe the M1060C was easier to drive.

OK so I purchased the new Dekoni Microsuedes, released at the beginning this month at RMAF along with a pair of ZMF Oval Suedes to compare against my Audeze Vegan Pads. So here's is my shoot-off between the Audeze Vegan, ZMF Oval Suede, and the new Dekoni Microsuede pads. I tested these on my...

OK so here's is my shoot-off between the Audeze Vegan, ZMF Oval Suede, and the new Dekoni Microsuede pads. I tested these on my Modded M1060s and the ThieAudio Phantoms. The long and the short of it is that they are all very similar, but do have a noticeable enough difference that you might...

Ok just got back from RMAF. I was totally mistaken. What I had tried before was the Dekoni elite velour pads. They just released the microsuedes on September 1st. I was literally the 2nd person ever to purchase them yesterday. I will compare them with the zmf oval suede and the audeze vegan pads...

I really enjoyed them stock, but it is so easy to make them SO MUCH better with the community mods. It was a fun little journey. With each mod I did I would get the excitement of trying out a new pair of cans. And they really do become stellar modded.

I tried the suede dekoni lcd pads an the m1060s and compared then against the vegan pads. They are not comparable. They muddy up the sound a touch and the bass is noticibly reduced.
