Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

I'll be keeping an eye out for some reviews on these, I'd love to be able to use my Brainwavz B400s part of a tws solution.

    Close back headphone suggestion needed

I have the HD569 which I've heard is very similar to the 598CS. While I prefer my HD6XX, my home office where I do most of my headphone listening is next to our family room and if my wife has the TV on there I need a little isolation which the 569s offer. They sound very good straight out of a...

What Are You Listening To Right Now? -New thread, new rules. Please read them.

In Portland on business for a few days. Got lazy and only brought my Pixel II XL and Shure SE 215s since I'll be working some long days. Woke up at about 4:30, got ready and took a little walk and hit a Starbucks at 5:00 to get caffeinated. This morning's listen has been Andy Sheppard's...

FiiO X5 2nd gen Impressions and Discussion thread

I would get occasional clicks or micro-gaps using FLAC files. I changed to using Apple Lossless on my X5-II and have never had an issue since.

FiiO X5 2nd gen Impressions and Discussion thread

Yup. If I'm going to be in and out of the car I'll sometimes use my phone just for the ease of bluetooth connection. But for 90% of my portable listening it's the X5ii. With two 128gb cards in it I've got enough music in FLAC format that I can always find something "just right" to listen to at...

The FiiO X1 Discussion and Help and Support Thread |192K/24B|100mW | LO | inline remote

I use a folder structure of Genre/Album Artist/Album. This works well for me as I'll usually have an idea what kind of music I feel like listening to and I won't have a ton of artists in any one category.

    Introducing Trinity Audio Engineering

I got some Deltas off of Amazon three weeks ago and have got to say that the sound quality of these is fantastic. BUT the cable is already separating from the left earpiece - I can see bare wire at the connection point. I've really been trying to treat them carefully but to no avail. I guess...

The release of FiiO X1's new firmware FW1.3

It is disappointing that there seems to be nothing happening with firmware for the X1. There are really three primary shortcomings at this point in my opinion (although I've been able to work around them for the most part).   1. 5800 track limit for the library. I use FLAC so even with a...

On a mission to like jazz

I love the Miles from India release, great concept and some very, very good music.   For a good introduction to accessible jazz I'd recommend the CTI Records 40th Anniversary box set - 4CDs in a LP size gatefold sleeve. You can grab it used off amazon for under $20, and new for $25.    ...

The release of FiiO X1's new firmware FW1.3

Gapless with FLAC works perfectly for me, but I don't use cue sheets.

The FiiO X1 Discussion and Help and Support Thread |192K/24B|100mW | LO | inline remote

I use Media Monkey to sync to my X1, and have it set to save the files to the device with a folder hierarchy of Genre\Album Artist\Album which works really well for me navigation-wise. Almost all of my listening is full album, and honestly I don't even bother to update the library any more...

Best android phone for audio: Wolfson DAC only?

I don't get the obsession with Wolfson DACs. There is a lot more that goes into the quality of audio on a device than what DAC is used. Technically there can be a crappy implementation of a Wolfson DAC just as there can be an excellent implementation of a different DAC.

Looking for a new portable that works well in a car

How are you planning to get the music from your DAP to the deck in the car? One advantage an iPod would have is the relative plethora of line out docks for the old 30-pin connector. I have an old Classic that is my primary portable music device. I can use it standalone, or if I'm just sitting...

Good portable amp with ipod any suggestions?

The Classic + E11 combination is really good, and plenty small enough to still fit in a pocket. I'm currently using that with UE 4000s as my portable setup. But if you don't need the large storage capacity of the Classic then you may be perfectly happy with your S3. For me I like being able to...

    Closed Headphone help!!!!

If you do get the UEs, try to avoid the temptation to listen to them right out of the box, and run some music through them for 48 hours before you listen to them. They sounded really poor before being broken in - no highs, muddy bass, just not good at all. I listened to a couple of songs and was...

    Do portable amps eq?

Quote:   The Fiio E11 has two levels of bass boost and runs a little over $50 off Amazon. If possible try to find the package sold by Micca with an extra battery and charger for the same price as the amp alone.   Review of the E11:

Stick a fork in me, I'm done. Dr. says "No more Headphones".... : (

I developed pretty bad tinnitus a couple of years ago, it turned out to be related to chronic sinus infections. When it was at its worst I almost couldn't listed to music at all, as the tinnitus would just drown everything out. It was very depressing, and my sympathies to the OP as I can...

Quote:   If you can stretch to $100 the UE4000 from Logitech/Ultimate Ears may fit the bill.  On ear, very comfortable, one sided detachable cable with remote for iDevices, and a sound signature that favors the lows & mids.
