Finally found my old Corda HA-1 Mk II. To what would it compare nowadays?

I was all set in searching a DAC/Amp combo device but today I've finally found my old Corda. I stopped using it ages ago and I had given it for lost. It's practically new. Connected it and it works perfectly. Currently using it with my equally old DT-880 (I recentely changed to new earpads...

I was looking at buying a DAC/AMP for my desktop use and I'm considering Topping's product. Is it good? Would it work well with my DT-880?

Which Comply tips for JVC HA-FXC50

Title says it all. I've read reference here to the TX-400. On Comply website I see that for the HA-FXC51 it says they're not compatible and advise the TX-500.   What do you think? Thanks in advance.

Crossfade on iPods. Does it exist?

From what I understand (long time Karma user... experiencing battery problems) crossfade is available only on iTunes, while gapless exists on both iTunes and iPods. Do I understand things correctly?

    Suggestion for headphone stand?

I'd like a nice stand for my DT 880, sold by some e-shop in the European Community that could ship to Italy. I don't want to spend a fortune, at the end of the day it's a piece of wood/metal...

    My letter to Ultimate Ears

Edit: UE completely remade them for me under warranty. Total time without phones: one week. One hell of a customer service Sad doesn't even begin to describe how I feel... I know what's coming now, but I felt posting this was the right thing to do. Quote: Dear Mindy, after less...

    SPLs UE-10 with Rio Karma

I promised this some time ago and, finally, I'm able to share this information with all fellow Head-Fiers. First I will describe the experiment and the rationale behind it, then I'll provide the results, along with some comments. As, hopefully, pretty much everybody in this forum is aware...

Anybody with a Rio Karma interested in Ultimate Ears?

No, I'm not selling mine (they're not resallable, being custom molded ). But I've been in touch with Jerry Harvey at UE to find out exactly what SPLs (Sound Pressure Levels) UE-10 Pro emit when used with a DAP. Now, he will be conducting tests with a dummy head and proper equipment to do...

Help me decide. Portable amp for Rio Karma + UE-10 Pro

Hi to everybody! I would like to get a portable amplifier for my Ultimate Ears UE-10 Pro, that I will be using with Rio Karma. I'm currently torn between Headsave Mint-Vibe, Xin Super Micro (size for this is amazing, does it really get 18 hours of life out of an AAA alkaline?) and...

    Ultimate Ears UE-10 Pro review

THE BEGINNING It all began here on Head-Fi, when Welly Wu and Lindrone decided to take the big jump to custom molded canalphones. Welly went with UE and Lindrone went with Sensaphonics. At the same time I was enjoying my Shure E3 but was always fiddling with different tips in the elusive...

    Shure tri-flanges deforming?

Hi guys. Just wanted to report on this, to understand whether it's normal or not. Ten days ago, more or less, I received tri-flanges from Shure, that I promptly mounted on my E3 phones. I cut the stem about 3mm as suggested in different threads, and that helped in making the highs less...

    Shure E3 robustness

Today I lived a small horror story... I was preparing to go out and was walking at home, with my E3 already in ears and my Karma portable playing. Then, all of a sudden I felt yanked, my ears hurt and music stopped playing. Turned out that the cord got caught in a door's handle and the plug...

Shure E3: foamies best sounding so far. Triflange?

Hi to everybody. Tonight I decided about experimenting a little with the different sleeves. I've owned a pair of E3 for a week or so. And so far I've always used the gray flex sleeves (having discounted the clear transparent ones, as they are too hard for my ears). Tonight, as I said, I...
