Would the MX1 in 600 ohm mode be able to adequately power the Beyer DT990 Premium 600 ohms? Also, where is the jumper on/in the MX1? Cheers, csm

That's pretty annoying. Oh well. Coming from HD 558s, they weren't too comfy and build quality sucked. AD700s are perfected but they are way too big for my head. For ~$75 what do you recommend I buy (good all-around set driven by a Xonar DG's amp through M-Audio AV40's passthru port)?

Don't they make for harsher treble?

Do the 558's sit higher on your head than the 700's?

The foam mod? I read it increases bass but the mids are highs get a bit muddier.

I have the Zalman mic sitting on my desk. :) Sound card is a NuForce USB DAC, amps up to 300 Ohms.

I know that; I meant that I am fine with both open and closed cans, I have no preference for one type over the other.

Open or closed are OK by me as long as they fulfill the above criteria.
