Audinst HUD-MX1 and DT990 Prem. 600 ohm
Would the MX1 in 600 ohm mode be able to adequately power the Beyer DT990 Premium 600 ohms? Also, where is the jumper on/in the MX1? Cheers, csm- csm725

What do we know about Audio Technica ATH-TAD300?
http://www.audiocubes.com/product_info.php?products_id=3050 I'm being offered that set + $25 for my AD700s. The AD700s are WAY too big for my below average head. How are these headphones? I didn't find anything about them on the Web, so hopefully someone here knows something. Cheers.- csm725

How are the HD558's?
Yes, good to hear. I have an amp too, so everything is good to go. I found a LNIB pair on the forums for $110, I am very excited.- csm725

ATH-AD700 vs HD598's
I realize the AD700s are overrated but for $90 they do seem to be the best for the price.- csm725

ATH-AD700 vs HD598's
I'm being told 598's are better all arounders but that I'll enjoy both. I'll get whichever is cheapest. Sounds good? Leaning towards the 598's because they have less issues.- csm725

ATH-AD700 vs HD598's
I see. So... basically, the decision remains HD598's or the AD900's... I've heard BAD things about the AD900's soundstage, although both seem pretty easy to drive... we'll see. Both are good options.- csm725

I'm wondering if there's anything better than the Senn 598s for soundstage/direction/mids/a little bass for ~$200. Not overwhelming bass though. AD700 AD900 HD558 HD598 SR850 ???- csm725

ATH-AD700 vs HD598's
I doubt I'd buy a second pair in the future, as far as I can see, budget-wise, it can't happen. So... if the HD598's are THAT good... how are HD558's? Any other good alternatives? AD900's also lack in bass then? Too bad. I'm off to bed, but my absolute high end is $200. No more than that for the...- csm725

ATH-AD700 vs HD598's
How are the AD900's? The AD700's are $90 new and the HD598's are double that price new and $140 used.- csm725

ATH-AD700 vs HD598's
I'm sure that both cans would suffice in terms of comfort. My question is which sounds better and slightly more importantly, which is better for gaming (directional, soundstage). It's clear to me that the Audio Technica open cans will be more comfortable but the 598s are good enough.- csm725

ATH-AD700 vs HD598's
I've narrowed it down to these two cans. Usage will be mostly gaming, some rock/pop, and I'd like great mids, a good soundstage, and adequate bass. Should be comfortable but not necessarily the be-all-end-all of comfort. Cheers, csm- csm725

Hey... First of all the headband cracking issue was fixed yes? Second, are there any cans better for gaming and rock/pop (good mids, some bass) for this price range? (~$140 used, ~$180 new)- csm725

Right, but the AD700 is butt-ugly and from what I read has bad mids and bass. Just so you know I have no speaker system so I need a good all-arounder.. 598's seem to be the best. Plus they look SEXY.- csm725

Quote: Yeah... they look GREAT. They're ~$145 used shipped. I've just heard so many bad things about the 440's that I've been scared away. The Sennheisers seem like they'd be great, with adequate bass, good mids, and a good soundstage. I'm willing to shell out the premium if it's...- csm725
