Static from bookshelf speaker tweeter
It wasn't that they couldn't fix it. They tested it and they couldn't find anything wrong with it apparently (whether or not they heard static, I don't know). I mean if there truly wasn't anything wrong with it then that means there's apparently dirty power in all the 5 or 6 households I have... -
Static from bookshelf speaker tweeter
Has anyone had this before / does anyone know how to fix it? My speakers are the Swan M200 mkii's and it had static probably 10 months after buying it. I sent it in but they couldn't find what was wrong with it so I just lived with it since it wasn't too significant (though I wasted $40 for...- AyeVeeN

Show us your Head-Fi station at it's current state. No old pictures please...
Love em. Had em for like 3 years now. Looking to get a sub though since I do miss the lowest frequencies. I use them much more than my headphones actually since I generally don't like the feeling of something on my head.- AyeVeeN

Rate The Last Movie You Watched
It was more-so an eye-roll with regards to the religious aspects (and there are a lot), e.g. it takes the idea of someone being a religious extremist nearly to the extremes only to build up to the rather expected ending, where everything goes all corny. I don't know about the cast. The...- AyeVeeN

hd 650 Spotify radio
Using my HE-400s, I can't tell any difference between 320CBR and 24-bit 44.1kHz FLAC, but I can when compared to 24-bit 96kHz FLAC. YMMV. Haven't bothered to test it with my HD650s yet though.- AyeVeeN

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
I'm not one who believes in the cable hype either (as long as the cable isn't uber ****ty like a $1 eBay cable). Looking to test it if there's any place that offers a return policy akin to Amazon, otherwise I'd buy a cable for its build quality rather than its perceived sonic characteristics. ...- AyeVeeN

**Hifiman HE-400 Impressions and Discussion Thread**
Sorry, forgot about this thread. Basically it's just piercing, though I've EQ'd it down and it sounds much better / the treble is much more tolerable. I'm one who doesn't like treble much though anyways; I prefer balanced if not slightly below balanced treble. E.g. AD700s killed my ears and...- AyeVeeN

How many of you have found your endgame holy grail headphone?
From my brief auditioning (and out of a Note 3), my end-game headphone seems (and has seemed to be for the past 4 years) to be the HD 650.. except for the fact I don't want to buy it because 1) don't want to pay $425+ for it when I first saw it at like $325 years ago and 2) the issues with its...- AyeVeeN

If you're running straight out of your on-board sound card, then I'd personally get both a DAC and an amp (whether they're separate components or not is up to you). Doesn't need to be significant; I noticed a huge improvement comparing on-board to the AQ DragonFly v1.2 ($150, portable USB...- AyeVeeN

Mine wasn't ticked. I notice no difference before / after though with both my speakers and headphones with the DragonFly.- AyeVeeN

AudioQuest Dragonfly Review : Affordable, Outstanding, Tiny DAC / Amp
Yes I did; about two weeks ago from BestBuy (last in stock and I'm not sure how many people actually purchase these there because it's BestBuy). Testing now (though I don't have that golden ear. Takes me awhile to discern minute differences. I believe in large part due to blasting my music...- AyeVeeN

AudioQuest Dragonfly Review : Affordable, Outstanding, Tiny DAC / Amp
Is it normal to hear a very high pitched screeching sound when receiving a call when a DAC is connected? Through the headphones of course. Due to how sensitive my ES3X's are, it's basically deafening. I don't want to use airplane mode because I listen to music like half the day.- AyeVeeN

AudioQuest Dragonfly Review : Affordable, Outstanding, Tiny DAC / Amp
Verizon's latest, MJE. Android 4.3. Accidentally updated to latest so not sure if it works with previous versions. Edit: It actually doesn't work consistently for me. I have to re-plug it in a few times to get it to work because other times it's like underpowered or something and there's a lot...- AyeVeeN

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (24-bit/192KHz)
Yeah for something that retails for $600+ I think demanding is perfectly fine.. I mean they make like $400 per unlocked phone sold. Reasons why I don't use my DAP (Sony F807) (and the main reasons why I bought my Note 3) is because 1) screen is too small, 2) it dies quickly when the...- AyeVeeN

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (24-bit/192KHz)
Yes. Firmware is MJ7, latest for the N900V. While I can technically turn it off, it only turns it off partially. It only turns off the EQs but not the actual Gain setting it made itself. I deliberately lowered the gain in poweramp in order to EQ and because one tick was already loud...- AyeVeeN

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (24-bit/192KHz)
A turn off button. It'd delete all my playlists because PowerAmp apparently does not like to import. It'd also delete my game's files (considering Google's backup thing for apps doesn't seem to work for saves and mine isn't rooted currently).- AyeVeeN

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (24-bit/192KHz)
Turned on Adapt Sound, now I regret it and can't turn it off (unchecking the Music thingy doesn't work). Makes everything sound distorted out of my ES3X.- AyeVeeN

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (24-bit/192KHz)
No, it is not Walkman Connect. I literally use my Walkman as a USB Drive via Windows Explorer and it lets me drag and drop straight from iTunes. Ever since the first use. Even before rooting. Straight plugged in (I remember this because I transferred like 20gb the first time which took like...- AyeVeeN

Sony NWZ-F806 mini review (& F-series player reviews / impressions / discussion)
I'm too lazy to read the past ~40 pages because I haven't been here since but does anyone use PowerAmp / have updated to the latest version? If so, is it laggy for you? I have the un-updateable F807. Ever since I updated PowerAmp after skipping probably like 2 or 3 updates (including the fact...- AyeVeeN

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
Really? Thats like one of the main reasons why I like the HE400s (with Alpha Pads though). Makes me feel like im in a movie theater and I love pinpointing where cymbals are (like for ex. Theyd be at 1 o clock and would be behind the other instruments for some trance / house songs). The excessive...- AyeVeeN

Sennheiser HD380pro vs HD215II (?)
I figured those would be options as you listed the HD518 as an option, which is open. Cant help you there then as the headphones with high isolation and good comfort didnt sound too great to me and the good sounding ones werent comfortable to me (asides from my ES3X, but those are CIEMs). Best I...- AyeVeeN
