I have pretty noticeable hiss on all my headphones through my pioneer sx-828 - except for my fostex t40.  nice thing about the 828 is it has a -20db mute switch that addresses the headphone problem pretty well :D

Argh! I was just in Portland a couple weeks ago! >_<   All the audio stores are pretty much on Roosevelt in the U district and there's one in Belltown that I know of.  Google it.

I dragged my receiver from my room to my computer and hooked it up with my mixing deck!  It's very listenable, but I'm doing speakers and not headphones.

dragged my receiver downstairs and used my mixing deck to run my computer's audio thru it (long story involving the cables I have and what fits comfortably on the back of my 30+ year old receiver) so that I could properly rock out to LCD Soundsystem's farewell concert stream.
