V-MODA Zn: Official Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, Videos, etc.

I have been listening to the ZN's for a few days now and it most definitely doesn't compare with the dunu dn2kj or akg k3003i. I suspect the claim that the ZN can compete with top tier iems is nothing more than a marketing gimmick. The ZN lacks the detail, clarity, instrument separation, and...

DUNU DN-2000J -- More Than Evolution?

For a while I managed to successfully avoid buying iems by staying clear of head-fi, but I was unable to resist the urge to read up on some threads and I stumbled upon this one. I was skeptical until I started to read about how they were in the same league as the K3003's by members whose...

Indeed. Its reputation was tarnished with the large mid-bass hump, recessed mids, and sibilance. In fact, I purchased them shortly after they were released, so I personally know all about the negative aspects. I even recall a large number of them popping up in the for sale forums during the...

Interesting. Did you do a side by side comparison with the W3 and W30? Is there any information from Westone that the W30 is tuned differently and/or is utilizing different drivers?

Sony XBA-H1 and XBA-H3 Hybrid Dynamic and BA IEM

I found my favorite tips for the H1, which are the large ortofon tips. They are the most comfortable tips I've tried for the H1 thus far and allow for shallow insertion with a vacuum like seal.  This combination has greatly helped the issue I had with the highs. They still sound soft but are...

Insert them with the strain relief pointing up and wrap the cables over your ears. This will reduce microphonics.

[REVIEW] Aurisonics ASG-2 & 2.5 (with many comparisons)

It's an iem that just recently got released. It uses a single dynamic driver and RHA is the manufacturer. If you ever get a chance to try them, take the opportunity.

The MA750 is an unexpected surprise. I let the Cardas burn in overnight and did some comparing with the MA750. I still need some more time with the Cardas but so far I like the MA750 more.

Got the EM5813's in the mail today. Out of the box, I've listened to them for an hour so far and used auvio tips. I have mixed impressions so far. Sometimes the highs are too recessed, the vocals too hollow, and the bass too much. On the other hand, sometimes the highs are right where they need...

It's normal with fedex. Be prepared to get a bill in the mail from them for about $10. It's a fee that they charge but for some reason they don't collect when they deliver the package.

New RHA IEMs: The MA750i and MA600i

I've let them burn in some and did some tip rolling. I listened to a bunch of songs with them and they are unique iems. Thus far, I haven't heard another iem that has a similar presentation. If you like electric guitars and bass guitars, have a listen to the MA750's. Electric guitars have so...

[REVIEW] Aurisonics ASG-2 & 2.5 (with many comparisons)

Will do. Too bad I don't have any UE900 tips any more as they also gave me a vacuum like seal. I remember trying them with the IE80 and it sounded bad. Ironically, the I found the IE80 to sound best with TF10 tips. I don't get a vacuum seal but I do get a snug fit.     Would you say...

Interesting. I corresponded with someone who has the AS-2 and had the Cardas EM5813. The person sold the Cardas because it sounded very similar to the AS-2. The person also noted that the Cardas is very tip dependent. Have you tried any other tips so far?

New RHA IEMs: The MA750i and MA600i

Got the MA750's in the mail today. Very nice packaging and the build looks very robust. The wires are fairly thick and rubbery but it makes me feel confident that they will be able to withstand any issues brought on by daily use. I love the stainless steel look. An aesthetically pleasing iem...

[REVIEW] Aurisonics ASG-2 & 2.5 (with many comparisons)

Got the ASG-2's in the mail today and I am happy to say that I am impressed. They are a far cry from the auditory abomination known as the ASG-1 (version 1). They also are able to sit in my concha like a real custom which didn't quite work out with the ASG-1 so I think that there was ergonomic...

[REVIEW] Aurisonics ASG-2 & 2.5 (with many comparisons)

Yup, I had the UE900 and those tips are much softer than the TF10 tips. I tried the UE900 tips on my IE80 and it made the IE80 sound unbearable. It emphasized bass way too much probably because the tips gave me a vacuum type seal where as the TF10 tips did not.

The shop near my place hasn't got them in stock yet. When they do, I will be able to audition them. On the last page I just read that 3 different headfiers had either the left or right side of the iem stop working all together. I'm wondering if it is a cable issue with these type of connectors.
