The Free Music Thread! (100% legal downloads of all formats.)
I like cloudkicker. It's instrumental prog metal. He has a "name your price" without a minimum for most of his stuff. It's not exactly free but still pretty close to it I suppose. Link: http://cloudkickermusic.com/music Artist: Cloudkicker Genre: Proggressive Metal Edit: I just noticed there... -
Foobar2000 not playing music!
No problem. I just linked to the first one I could find. I'm not sure whether it's any good or not. Secret Rabbit Code used to be pretty good, but I'm not sure whether or not there is a plugin for the current version of foobar.- EnOYiN

Foobar2000 not playing music!
Hi. First of all you'd need to get an upsampling component. Like this one: http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_dsp_multiresampler Download the plugin and put it in your foobar2000\components directory. Then start foobar and go to Preferences>Playback>DSP Manager. You can then see...- EnOYiN

Keyboard-Fi
I switched when I was at about a 100 wpm (with Qwerty) because of RSI problems and right now ( about 1 / 1.5 years later) I'm pretty much back at that level with colemak. I can do 90 wpm most of the time that is. So my is experience when switching has to do with a lot of hatred and anger towards...- EnOYiN

:) It takes quite a while to get good at typing indeed. Most people tend to get stuck around 50/ 60 wpm for quite a while. Took me about half a year to get to 80 wpm so some complaining is warranted I suppose.- EnOYiN

I'm still quite happy with my choice to go with Colemak. Have been using it for about a year now. The only annoying thing I run into regularly is having to change hotkeys for games almost every time.- EnOYiN

Very nice. What did you use to record it with? -
Guitar-fi anyone?
I see. The first time I started tuning my first guitar with a floyd rose bridge I broke a string straight away because I forgot to take off the screws on the nut. :) Changing strings isn't that bad though. Just make sure you don't take off all the strings at once.- EnOYiN

Link. That's something which can get you started in blues. Depends on how good you are whether it's worth something to you or not.- EnOYiN

Can you hear the difference?
Just downloaded the files and compared them (before looking at the spoiler for what that's worth.) and I couldn't tell the difference at all.- EnOYiN

Typeracer is something I did quite a bit a well. If you don't have to read the stories any more you know you're practising enough. :) A program I really like is TypeFaster. It forces you to use every key on the keyboard which is mainly relevant for the keys you wouldn't be using all that much in...- EnOYiN

I bought some stuff from them before. Never had any problems with them to be honest. Maybe they just don't care too much how their site looks. I do agree that it wouldn't take too much to make it a little better though.- EnOYiN

Nirvana's "Nevermind" - A brief look back
This thread inspired me to listen to Nevermind again and play along on the guitar. What an awesome album indeed. -

That's kinda disappointing. I've got it for PC, but I haven't played it yet. I hope they'll release a patch soon to fix some of those issues.- EnOYiN

Looking for guidance in choosing a budget but solid gaming sound setup
Good question. I don't know the answer to that since I've never used the front panel myself. Here is a thread where another person asks pretty much the same question. No one answered yet though.- EnOYiN

Looking for guidance in choosing a budget but solid gaming sound setup
Well, I haven't got them here to be able to compare them side by side right now, but I'd say the HD555 is the better headphone here. So I would go for that. The HD518 is still a pretty solid bet though, so either way I'm sure you won't be disappointed.- EnOYiN

Looking for guidance in choosing a budget but solid gaming sound setup
Most shops I've been to that sell higher quality headphones don't mind you trying them as long as you're careful. In my case it goes like this: sound > soundcard > S/PDIF (the optical connection indeed) > Stello DA100 - RCA out > RCA in - WooAudio 6 > HD650- EnOYiN

Looking for guidance in choosing a budget but solid gaming sound setup
1. The card has an audio processor. I don't actually know how much CPU it's going to steal though. Maybe someone else can tell you. 2. Try it! If at all possible try it and get to hear it for yourself. The most gain in sound quality is the headphones in my opinion. Amps and DACs/ soundcards...- EnOYiN

Looking for guidance in choosing a budget but solid gaming sound setup
My post over at RPS sadly seems to have been lost, so here it goes again. This time it's a lot shorter than the post I wrote on RPS though. So the main things the xonar has over your onboard card is the surround sound and a slightly better amp. How much difference is this going to make? Well...- EnOYiN

I can't see my own post any more I'm afraid. If it doesn't get through today I'll rewrite it tomorrow. I've also sent a message to Rossignol asking why that happened. Maybe some other people here have some input on the matter as well.- EnOYiN

Yeah, I would. But it took quite a while to write it and I didn't think to copy it . I'll send Mr. Rossignol a message to ask him about it.- EnOYiN
