I wouldn’t buy the TA-30 it’s about to be replaced, I actually think my TA-10r is better sounding than the TA-30 I just think the newer stuff is a cut above.

With the Xduoo hybrid I don’t feel you give much up, a lot of hybrid and solid state tend to loose imaging and harmonic complexity, roll of the top end and have texture not having a tube amp section, these amps don’t nor do they suffer from reaching a ceiling where they distort like shattering...

    Xduoo Amplifiers

I have several tube amps of various kinds and I think the Xduoo stuff holds their own. Their solid state sounds very good since it’s class A, I’m actually shocked that their stuff doesn’t sound very solid state like at all. I think if you get their newest amps they will sound great for you.

Solid state is better at amplifying for current, tubes are better as voltage amps. lower impedance headphones need current. OTL for sure have a lack of currant. There are high current tube amps, but not so many as headphone amps. Tubes are IMO the best for soundstage they can have a holographic...

I don’t know if the new ESS will have the dual chip layout like the AKM. if it does I think it could compete, but if anybody here has ever used HQPlayer or done DSD upsampling like on iaudiogate it’s something to behold on the 4493, it’s definitely better as a DAC than the TA-30 and I think the...

    Xduoo Amplifiers

I’m an Xduoo owner I currently have a TA-10r and I love it! I owned for a short while the TA-30 but had to return it due to a defect. I liked the sound of it a lot, but the AKM DAC is way better when you filter the USB and up res to DSD. What I would love to see is the TA-32 to have to new AKM...

iFi iPurifier 2 - Reviews, Impressions and Discussion Thread

Has anybody tried this in an audio interface yet? I would think that since many of those don't have great clocks and are powered by USB, this could be a really nice addition to a recording interface. I have tried it on my USB mic, and it definitely took away some audible noise with my USB cable...

LajostheHun, There is a a balanced version it is called the iCan Pro, it is $1700, I know it is more than the liquid carbon, but it doubles as a preamp for home stereo use plus has every input imaginable, has a tube buffer stage and solid-state XLR input. iPhone 5 with IOS 7 sounds different

I have found iOS7 sounds better overall, I have also tried it with the Mcintosh Audio AP1 app, XD music player and of course the native music app, All apps sound better, it does sound less congested, to my ears, without an amp. There is better sound staging and the high end is less harsh and my...

Cable and DAP combo for IE8

Hey Everyone, I had a question. I am hard pressed to find a cable that would suit my needs for my IE8. I am not all that impressed with the seemingly generic offerings of cables on Ebay for this IEM. It seems like everyone makes their own offering of teflon dialectric IEM cables with stranded...

Now listening to Sennheiser IE8 with Upgraded Cable!!

cn11 the EX1000 looks like a very good IEM. Can you upgrade the cable on them? I think this IEM is the only one with a frequency range that goes past 20k. I know it has a midrange hump around 5k how do these sound compared to the Senns? Oh and do you know if they sound harsh when listening to...
