Looking to upgrade to planar magnetic headphones, with bass
Eh, the soundstage is average at best and I'm not a fan of its imaging capabilities. But I will agree the bass is quite enjoyable.- Montecristo

Best headphones for rock/pop under $1.5k?
I am looking for a more forward sound with the rock music really being in your face and I want the slam of the drums to be heard through the bass. For bass I would prefer a hard controlled slam rather than more of a "rumble" but I like both. These are the headphones I have tried and my comments...- Montecristo

TH-900 vs Nighthawks
I was wondering what your thoughts on the differences between the two were since I heard they are both known for their bass.- Montecristo

Headphones like LCD 3 but are more comfortable and have more bass/soundstage?
Thank you for the explanation... Isn't most music in the midrange?? So wouldn't a recessed midrange have a big impact?- Montecristo

Headphones with bass like the Nighthawks but clarity/detail/soundstage like the LCD 3
LCD 3's are a bit too heavy and I wanted a bit more boom in the bass, so I tried out a pair of Nighthawks and love the bass but now I miss the clarity/detail and soundstage from the LCD 3. I also thought the Nighthawks bass was a bit muddy, though overall satisfying. Is there a middle ground...- Montecristo

Finding a replacement for my LCD 3's
I am selling my LCD 3's because I can not get over the weight/clamping force and I would like to find a similar headphone (not LCD 2). But, I would like more bass. The LCD 3 bass was absolutely lovely but it didn't have enough...rumble? Fullness? To put it into perspective I recently tried out...- Montecristo

Headphones that have a similar sound signature to LCD 3?
So I ended up trying the Focal Elear and the Focal Utopia and I really could not hear that much of a difference. Definitely not a $3k difference...crazy.- Montecristo

Headphones that have a similar sound signature to LCD 3?
Aye, the comfort on the LCD 3's are...lacking. But surely the 650's can't compete with the lush mid range that audeze offers no? Not to mention the bass... I can see the 650 beating them on the highs/vocals though.- Montecristo

Headphones for Opera and Classical in $500-$700 range. HiFiman? Sennheiser? Grado GS1000? Help!
First off, I am by no means the right person to give advice, but I can help you start. The HD 800 are completely unforgiving of bad recordings, which is ironic because they are arguably the best, out of your selection, for your music preferences (at least for classical) I may be wrong but I'm...- Montecristo

Best amp/dac for LCD 3 under $1000
I currently have a purrin moded W1000X that isn't being properly driven, but I'm looking to upgrade to an LCD 3 in the future and would like an amp/dac that can OPTIMALLY drive both (mainly the planar magnetic). My music preferences are electronic and rock...I love that deep down bass, hence me...- Montecristo
