If it is from the cup, it can be the glass being a bit loose and hitting the metal "rim". You can put a little bit of foam between them or tape. In my case, just tightening the screws fixed this. Later in my experimentation, I replaced the glass with a thing PC gaming mouse pad I cut in circles...

I bought several brainwavz pads and tried them with these headphones (standart, suede, XL...). I did not have too much clamping issues but I had pressure building in the right ear cup. Also, the sound was not to my taste.

The "company" is just one guy and his wife if I understood correctly. He must be pretty busy. I have two pair of headphones in the pipes... Good things take time.

There is a way to make the 100mm or even the 105mm fit with some "plumber" foam tape. But without that, 90mm is the biggest you should go with.
