Sennheiser HE-1
I had the chance to shoot an introductory event with the HE-1 a while ago and I begged for some time to have a bit of a product shot. It's been a while since this happened, kind of forgot I used to post here so hence the delay. Anyway, I present some clean fun headphone pr0n: I got some time...- Feanor

Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
The HD600 is what brought me into this game and I've stayed with it through thick and thin. I go back and forth atm between an HE-4XX and my old Sennheisers but tbh putting the HD600 back on feels like coming home. Only headphone that could make me forget them is the HE-1 :) , thank god that is...- Feanor

First European Head-Fi Meet in Berlin! Help Needed with Organizing!
I can probably go to Berlin a day in advance and help set up the venue for the meet. It would be nice if we could send out a mass PM interest check to all the EU headfiers, because I think a lot of people don't see this. edit: if we have the date set, maybe we can ask jude to have anybody...- Feanor

Worst recorded/Mastered Albums
Try anything by the Go! team for intentionally bad SQ. This is one of the better quality tracks they have on a side note: It's interesting to listen to the original version of Raw Power from (Iggy Pop &) The Stooges. I recall reading that they were going for a deliberately bad sound... -
Need recommendation for a LOW sensitivity can in the $100 range
You might want to check if you can adjust the gain on the dac with a jumper or something, a lot of equipment has this.- Feanor

Building a Headphone Measurement Lab
Tyll, maybe this has been discussed before, but have you thought of normalizing based on these curves? As far as I understand it, now you are compensating for the ear canals FR, but the psychoacoutics are important too.- Feanor

Testing audiophile claims and myths
Nice summary. I recall the debate about the headfi cable test, I'm happy it happened in the end. If we ever have a big euro meet I will try to assemble a Blind testing stand (not so sure about double blind as I will swap the stuff, but I am planning not to interact with the subject in any way)...- Feanor

Headphones for jazz (for a beginner)
K501's have a wonderful midrange, should work well for vocals. Not perfect phones (don't expect too much bass), but the guy who's pair I auditioned has avoided upgrading to the 701 because he felt the midrange was lacking.- Feanor

Audeze LCD-2 Orthos
Truth be told I was surprised they were in the same projected price range as the HE-5LE, because I assume there is a big difference in manufacturing costs between the two (china <-> US , plastic <-> wood). The current price seems to reflect that better. It's also a good move psychologically IMO...- Feanor
