Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

Ha ha! Yes! MS is where I got poisoned. Calvin let me try the K10 demo set and the rest is history. I'm just waiting for my set to come in. Now the bigger question is do I keep the Chord Hugo, or sell it away for the AK120II. They have a balanced mode which sounds really interesting to me.

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

Lol. Yes. I can tell. The Shure 846 is very addictive. The K10 was by far the superior iem though. Unfortunately, I already spent my fair share on my other hobby before coming back to audio gear, so only one BF deal for me... For this year at least. Heh.   Yup. I'm based in Singapore too!

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

Whoa man. I just saw your incoming IEM list. You went from the Shure 846 to 5 TOTL ciems almost overnight?!   I'm impressed man. Don't suppose you got any gear you'd like to sell? We can meet up locally and you can avoid the paypal and shipping charges.   Purely because i'm such a...

    Chord Hugo

I have the Hugo. It's eally transparent and detailed, and the soundstage is insane. But the bass is seriously lean. Not sure if that might be an issue when you're using the Triple 10 Pros.

which is the best portable headphone amp with best bass boost and warm sound

Yes, I would like to know the answer to this as well. Am currently using the very first gen SR-71 and I just love its sound signature. Would like something similar to move up to. I got the Chord Hugo and was amazed at the extremely wide soundstaging, but couldn't really get over its neutral...

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

Wow. How did you get it to last that long? Mine died on me after 3-4 years. Had to send them back for recabling a few times. Gave up after the 3rd time.   Haven't tried the N5 or N6. I did a a/b between the 8C and K10. Am going with the K10. Heh.   Am also busy trying to rip my old tunes...

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

Wow. I last used my Shure E5C more than 10 years ago. Can't believe it's been that long since.   Which ciems are you going to be getting?     P.S.   Might be best to just wait till friday to find out. Things got mighty interesting here the last time this question was asked.

Vision Ear V 6 Custom IEM thread

Yeah, you weren't kidding about the brief part. I was hoping for more of a direct comparison. Considering the price difference, I would like to know whether the quality difference is big enough to justify the significantly bigger price tag. It's about a thousand dollars more than the K10 which...

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

Omg. I can't wait to see one Prestige model in blue carbon glass. Will probably only be able to afford a regular Blue Carbon Glass faceplate though.

    The need for amplifiers

Because people tend to spend a lot more money than they expect to once they start browsing this here forum. There's always some new gadget or upgrade that will catch your eye. Hence, good luck to your wallet. Heh.   Anyway, I think what Johan was trying to say was that sound quality is rather...

Anyone? Alternatively, is there anywhere in japan that I can test the Noble audio K10 demo sets?

Fitear MH335DW vs JH16 pro vs Unique Melody Merlin vs Roxanne

Wow. Thanks for pointing that one out for me Kunlun. I haven't even heard about them till now. Am currently reading up on the reviews about the Noble 10 and 8C.   It might be the last set of earphones I get. Might as well go big. Heh.

which is better? An ipod DAC/amp combo or a DAP + amp combo?

Wow. Thanks for taking the time for this explanation. It makes things way clearer now. So basically anything that uses a Line Out already goes through it's internal DAC eh? Is that why most people just use an amp with their source?   What about the iRiver H120/140 with an optical line out...

which is better? An ipod DAC/amp combo or a DAP + amp combo?

Haha! Agreed on the UI. I've been using the AK120 and the X5 and I still like Apple's UI the most. The attention to detail that they have is just amazing. (that and the fact that they've had years to brainwash/re-program me)   I'm quite curious though, if a DAC is connected to a player's...

~$1000 budget for Cans for on the go

I'm quite surprised no one has mentioned the ATH ANC9. They have better sound isolation as compared with the QC15 while providing better sound quality.

Introduction and help regarding the choice of a portable DAP

Yeah. I am currently looking out for the e-18 amp. Haven't been able to get my hands on one yet. Someone else in this forum recommended the upcoming ibasso dx90 though. Might be worth a look?

Best Closed Headphones - Might go unamped

Hmm... Still waiting for the ibasso dx90 and the fiio x5 to be out before I decide. So far I managed to get my hands on the vmoda m100 and the tan m50x. Both sound amazing! The vmoda clearly has better sound quality, but it has this clamping effect that gives me a headache. Love the ath-m50x...

Best Closed Headphones - Might go unamped

Hi,   I'm looking for a set of Closed headphones that would work well unamped. I might get an amp eventually, but for the next 1-2 years i'll be doing a lot of travelling, so an amp might be a little cumbersome. I've normally been used to using iems like Shures or Westones for their clarity...
