Sm3/Tf10 fan, looking for CIEM recommendations (jh13,16,miracle)
Hi everyone, I like the signature of the sm3s and the tf10s, my sm3 died recently (cable problems) though and its time to get a custom earphone now. Would the JH13s suit me? Some sound signatures I don't like are the um3x for example. Impressive soundstage and "presence" is...- chaosfayt

Predator vs Protector
Hey guys, I just got the protector and twag balanced cable and i must say I'm pretty impressed with how my music is presented now. The soundstage is pretty huge, and it feels like you're sitting in the concert hall as opposed to listening to a 1 dimension playback of the music. And yeah I'm...- chaosfayt

Predator vs Protector
hey everyone, i currently have a predator and am thinking of maybe switching to a protector as I don't use the DAC much. That said, how much better is the protector as compared to the predator? That said, how good is the protector at all? I can't seem to find many reviews of the protector...- chaosfayt

[Review] Future Sonics MG6PRO Ear Monitors: Dynamic Driver Custom-Fit In-Ear Monitors
"One key point about these customs is that their dynamic drivers are very durable and much more easy to service than armature-based customs, which tend to be more delicate." I said that on my thread and got flamed hah.- chaosfayt

Are Custom Earphones really all that fragile?
Well apparently playing sine waves/ test tones can damage your speakers , so i figured the same thing might apply to earphones An example of such tones include frequency sweeps for burn in etc, even the *bleep* censor sound is a 1khz test tone. I've heard that they stress the drivers or...- chaosfayt

hah drama is abundant on internet forums Also jack, since you seem to be pretty knowledgeble about earphones, tell me, does playing straight low bass tones damage earphone drivers? I've read that they have the capacity to destroy subwoofers, how about drivers then?- chaosfayt

Seems like a great pair of customs! On a side note, that case is awesome, both practical and stylish, where could I get one like that? Edit: I checked their site and it seems they are selling it for 20 bucks, gonna get one then lol.- chaosfayt

Are Custom Earphones really all that fragile?
I guess i did bring in assumptions, which is why i needed to clarify , i was just not too sure about their durability. I am actually pretty sure that the average pair of customs will survive up to at least 3 years under normal usage. Because if they usually die in about 1/2 years, then i...- chaosfayt

googling about BA vs dynamic drivers , pros and cons etc , not googling BA driver failure , the latter is sure to give you threads of people whining about driver failures- chaosfayt

Are Custom Earphones really all that fragile?
My apologies if you think i'm "spreading" false rumours that customs are fragile, music. The topic was meant as a question to clarify that exact same subject being a custom earphone user myself and being under the impression that they should be baby-ed . I'm sure i'm not the only one who thinks...- chaosfayt

Well I meant that their cost could range up to a thousand or more. .my own costed me 1.3k usd as a gauge The extract i took is perfectly intelligible and generally explains the workings of the armature, not too sure how to translate that for you pal, im afraid you'll have to help me with...- chaosfayt

Are Custom Earphones really all that fragile?
Hmm thats interesting, I often hear that BA drivers are far more prone to damage as compared to their dynamic cousins and most people recommend taking very good care of them. I understand that reliability is indeed a factor in custom earphones but wouldn't musical accuracy and the form factor be...- chaosfayt

Are Custom Earphones really all that fragile?
Haha well, i was interested to know about the durability of the drivers (since they essentially pump out the music) instead of the acrylic. Because i've read so many threads which describe how very fragile these BA drivers are , and considering i have 8 of them each side, dang the risk of one...- chaosfayt

Are Custom Earphones really all that fragile?
I believe most professional musicians use customs for their tight fit and to get a good accurate feedback of the music when performing , doubt durability is an issue for them actually (is what i meant) Anyhow, back on topic then, customs - Fragile or not- chaosfayt

LOL im inclined to take that as sarcasm music. Big time performers don't really care about how fragile their earphones are i believe, because its mostly sponsored and they can get a new one on the fly.- chaosfayt

Are Custom Earphones really all that fragile?
mhm , title. I see tons of people babying their customs alot, and I myself do that in excess sometimes. But really, what makes a custom anymore fragile than say the usual IEM? I mean the acrylic is actually pretty thick as compared to some iem shells. The only difference is that the...- chaosfayt
