Ultimate Ears UE 900 Discussion and Impressions Thread

Do you guys think $199 is a good deal for these? I had the UE900 from the Apple store at full price and took them back due to the QC issues many were having. I never had any issues but was just worried. I did love the IEMs and they were probably may favorite all arounders except for the price...

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

That was my thought as well. I forgot to add one caveat to my requirements a I have started this research over the weekend: I need iPhone Mic and controls. The Dunu and Yamaha are not going to get me those. This is turning out to be tougher than I thought.

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

Hard to believe I would get near the bass impact I am looking for out of these. Can this really be an option?

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

Joker, I recently purchased the MA750s. While I think I have really found a good sounding set of IEMs for the money, they kill my ears. For some reason they end up resting on my lower lobe and just become painful. I wear mine on longer flights so they have to be comfortable. So now, I am...

New RHA IEMs: The MA750i and MA600i

Just thought I would share a finding on tips with the MA750s. I know RHA gives us a great many tips but I had a pair of Sennheiser Bi-Flange tips from some older IE-80s laying around. These tips fit perfectly and have a larger opening that any of the tips in the RHA selections. They also...

Help me identify these Bi-Flange Tips

Thanks. I am thinking thats where they came from now. I did have Senn IE80s before.

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

Joker, I asked about an alternative to the Brainwavz B2. I have since found it is very sensitive to sources IMO. Direct from my iPhone, it just hurts. But when I add in the little Fiio E6 amp, it really takes the edge off. Also the Bass Eq really does wonders for these things.    In the...

    Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)

Joker, I have been toying around with a few IEMs and was hoping you can steer me in the right direction from your vast experience. I have some Shure 215s but I always long for more detail. So I purchased a set of Ety HF5s and liked them but missed my bass. So I sold those. Now I am trying the...

Thoughts on Limited Edition Shure SE215?

Etymotic. HF series would be the closest in price. Completely different sound though. I own HF5s and Shure SE215LTDs. The Etymotics do isolate better.

    The Etymotics HF5 Thread

Had to chime in here. I purchased a pair of HF5s on Amazon's lightning deal. I happen to get the last pair and even confirmed through an email. Then for some reason the vendor running the lightning deal charged my credit card for the full 109.99 regular selling price. I called Amazon and they...

Thoughts on Limited Edition Shure SE215?

Quote: Exactly. I sit in close quarters on planes and crank my music. I have never even had an odd look. No one can hear anything. I have verified this with my wife too while listening in bed.

    Htc One

Quote: Cyanogenmod 10.1 runs great but still has issues with BT Audio and other smaller bugs. The best way to go right now is with 4.2.2 Jelly Bean in the flavor of Android Revolution. Its very clean and Sense 5.1 is very minimal. I am using the PureXAudio mod too and it really shines.

NAD Viso HP50 : Another superb headphone from Paul Barton?

Quote: I think the big difference is with the PSBs you only got the "Room Feel" feature when using the amp. With the NADs they are passive so it will be there no matter what.

$65 in Reward Zone Credit...what should I buy

Don't really need any IEMs, but can't help myself. Anything at Best Buy worth even looking into?

    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

I finally switched the pads from my daughter's Crossfade LPs. She doesn't know the difference and the LP pads are deeper and do not allow my ears to touch. I haven't listened to mine as much lately but I am noticing a huge difference. There are some comparisons on here so I would defer to them...

    Sennheiser HD 598 Impressions Thread

Quote: I have to agree. I am very late to this party but I got mine yesterday and I can't quit listening to them. I have had some much more expensive headphones from Beyer, Ultrasone and AKG. These just absolutely are the most involving headphones I have had. I told my son they just make...

Ultimate Ears UE 900 Discussion and Impressions Thread

Quote: Your experience mirror mine. I tied all the Head-Fi "koolaide" IEMs. These are the ones that I refer to that are supposed to be just as good, cheat the realm of logic, better than IEMs 5 times their price, etc etc blah blah blah. What I found was you can't cheat the old "you get what...

Review: Philips Fidelio L1 [Updated 5/14]

Quote: I guess we hear things differently as I certainly don't hear the Momentum as the more bassy of the two. The looser warmer bass of the Senns may be heard as more quantity in some music but its really just a bloating effect. I also feel the detail retrieval is lacking at the micro...

Review: Philips Fidelio L1 [Updated 5/14]

I am not a Momentum fan nor a fan of Sennheiser house sound in general. I have tried every way possible to like the Momentums not even considering the price. When price is added into the equation, they really take a beating. So take all my comments with that in mind.   Overall the Senns have...

Review: Philips Fidelio L1 [Updated 5/14]

Got my L1s today. I haven't had them off my head much so I am enjoying them. No break in so if that helps, they will just get better with time. I listen through a Fiio E17 from my Macbook using some ALAC and 256 AAC tracks. As a reference, I have the V-Moda M100s, PSB M4U 1s and Momentums on...

Ultimate Ears UE 900 Discussion and Impressions Thread

I got to compare mine yesterday to the Shure 535 LTDs. I was in an airport Inmotion store but it was a walk in store and he gave me some time with them. I am a Shure fan from having a set of SE215s and a pair of SE425s (I returned these in favor of the SE215 due to price). After having my UE900s...

Review: Philips Fidelio L1 [Updated 5/14]

Quote: I was not a Momentum fan. They sounded good initially but were just a bit too congested. I like spacious sounding headphones. Some people like to use the word soundstage but I don't think that is actually possible from a headphone. Speakers yes, but there is not a soundstage between...

Ultimate Ears UE 900 Discussion and Impressions Thread

Quote: Curious about this and your feeling on the airplane adapter. Tell me more. I will test too.   I do notice a big perceived improvement using my Fiio E17 as an amp over just using the iPhone 5. It definitely adds alot to the bottom end for me. I think its more about output...
