Does anyone know how good the HT Omega Fenix is?

Can I get a link for that $30 sound card and the listed SNR for the Fenix? I'm not sure I trust Creative to provide good drivers considering their track record for dropping support on their products. ASUS also seems to be dropping support as they still don't have W10 drivers for their Xonar...

Does anyone know how good the HT Omega Fenix is?

After doing some detective work (looking closely at photos and spec sheets for the other HT products.) I discovered that the Fenix has JCR 4580 op-amps which are the same as the Claro Halo and Halo XT which are both rated to drive 600ohm headphones. I still don't know if its a worthy upgrade...

DAC for computer with beats audio

Beats Audio is a really sneaky program. I've had the displeasure of owning a computer with such a program. Here are some of the things it does without warning:   1.Turn it off and it will mess with your windows default equalizer settings (On: +3db Bass, +3db Treble) (Off: -13db Bass +3db...

    Amp/Dac connected to Amp

You can try plugging your headphones directly into the line out and switching the bass boost on and off to hear if there is a difference.

Nice review. One thing though, I have Core Player on my Windows Phone and it can play FLAC files no problem.

    AKG Q701 vs ath-msr7

That may be true, but the amplifier that OP has still cannot be used very well if they have to keep their Treble, Mid, and Bass knobs near, if not at maximum. This leaves very little sound customization available to the user.

    AKG Q701 vs ath-msr7

I have the same amp. With all the knobs turned up to 10, it only reaches a moderate listening volume on my K612 (which requires similar amping to the K7XX.) I think you'd be better off getting the headphones you want for music listening and then buy a cheap, low impedance pair to use with the...

Upgrade amplifier for K612 or stick with E10K

Thanks for the clarification. That was the answer I was looking for.

I think I will wait a while before I upgrade. Clearly there are many things I still need to research.

Upgrade amplifier for K612 or stick with E10K

I have no interest in replacing these headphones. If the fiio is really all the amplification I need, then my question has been answered. I was just wondering if it had enough power, not just volume.

Upgrade amplifier for K612 or stick with E10K

I have been using a Fiio E10K to power my AKG K612 Pros for a while now and just cannot decide if they have enough amping or not. Would it be worth it for me to save up for a Schiit Magni 2 or should I stick with my current setup? If I am getting 90% of the detail out of this setup I really...

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones Part II

My roommate does not even want to listen to my headphones. He says he doesn't want to feel like he needs to upgrade (and spend money) and has decided to keep his ears used to the lower quality songs and headphones he already has.   I never would have anticipated this response, but it seems...

Need help choosing a pair of inexpensive portable in-ear monitors with tangle free cable and 3-button controller, mostly for deep house and house.

That version has the iphone cable designated by the "i" suffix. The J33a would have your android remote. I don't know too much about JBL headphones other than that they are not all that great for the price. Their new Synchros line seems to be an improvement though. (extrapolating from reviews)...

Looking for earphones under $50 for trance

FYI the K450 is on-ear   Seeing that all the headphones you mentioned are In-ear, I will assume an IEM is what you are looking for.   Try the K323 ($40 straight, $50 w/mic) The smaller the tips, the less bass you will hear.

Need help choosing a pair of inexpensive portable in-ear monitors with tangle free cable and 3-button controller, mostly for deep house and house.

You are going to be hard-pressed to find an IEM or any headphone with a 3-button controller that is android/windows compatible. All current one-button controllers have a mic and next/previous functionality (depending on how many times you press the button.)   As far as your budget is...

    AKG new headphone K545?

I noticed on my one button cable that the metal sleeve on the 3.5mm jack side came loose and now I can slide it back onto the cable (sometimes accidentally when unplugging). Any suggestions on how to fix this. I am worried I will ruin it with glue.
