Schiit Two Channel Clubhouse
I'm thinking of buying a Schiit Aegir to go with Triton 7s and a Rythmik F12G sub. At least in my experience so far, using high level inputs on the sub has been the best way to get subs to integrate well. Has anyone used a sub with an Aegir wired up that way? Just want to make sure I wont run...- SnowRang3r

New Amp from HeadAmp - GS-X Mini
4pin XLR is technically safer than a lot of the other connectors out there (since each connector has its own spot and isn’t going past multiple connectors when plugging in or out) but I’ve still gotten in the habit of turning everything down when doing so. Enjoy your new amp!- SnowRang3r

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
On the livestream last night Jason mentioned 3 models. Yggy OG (A2 using AD 4x20bit) Yggy “less is more” using 4x16bit TI Yggy “more is less” using 4x20bit TI Jason mentioned at least some preferred “less is more” and that “more is less” measures the best of the 3. Cost wise OG is the most...- SnowRang3r

Hmm I wonder if the two new flavours of Yggy are using these newer chips from TI? https://www.ti.com/product/DAC11001A 20bit R-2R and the DAC81001 would be the 16bit version. excited to hear more especially since I’m currently in back order for one :)- SnowRang3r

Schiit Audio Bifrost 2
On MacOS this is true. But on iOS or iPadOS it automatically switches. The new iPad Air (or any iPad Pro) with USB-C is a great way to get Apple Music directly to a DAC bit perfect. Can use an iPhone too but then you need the Camera connector kit… wish everything was just USB-C.- SnowRang3r

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
When I first heard or Roon I thought it was way too expensive. But when they had a 3month deal on I finally gave it a shot. Now I don’t want to go without it… I still need to pickup a NUC to run the Core on. It’s running on an old laptop now which still gets used for some other tasks. Enjoy...- SnowRang3r

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Yeah looks like $949 with tubes and $849 without. They mentioned on the recent live stream getting tubes has been difficult and a price bump might be required.- SnowRang3r

If you guys go back and watch the live stream you’ll see Jason says one is a Transformer and the other is a choke. I’ll be honest I didn’t really understand the benefits of a choke so asked on the live steam and Jason / Mike gave some info. I did a bit more reading on them here...- SnowRang3r

He’s mentioned a few times the ESS DACs have way more options. Maybe they’re still playing around with those to see what sounds best? Just a guess, so I could be totally wrong.- SnowRang3r

Schiit Audio Bifrost 2
I’ve had zero issues with my BF2. Have had it since October, I leave mine on most of the time unless I’m gone for 3-4 days. A shame some people are having issues, hopefully Schiit resolves them quickly!- SnowRang3r

Schiit Yggdrasil Impressions thread
On Bifrost2 there is 2 DAC (1 per channel) chips, the balanced signal is created in the output stage. So makes sense on BF2 the only difference is the volume. On Yggy there’s 4 DAC (2 per channel). So the signal created is inherently balanced. The SE output is a summed signal which in theory...- SnowRang3r

That’s one of the big benefits or balanced (especially for long runs). It’s called common-mode noise rejection. Here’s a quick picture but you can always read more on it: https://ledgernote.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/balanced-cable-noise-cancellation.png- SnowRang3r

Apple Music Now with lossless high-res and spatial audio
Especially if they add a Hi-Fi tier to Apple Music they really need to look at including AptX-HD, LDAC support. Although knowing Apple they’ll probably create their own higher bitrate codec.- SnowRang3r
