I think that they are good DACs/AMPs in their price range, but just good, nothing special. At this price range there are better choices IMO. 

keep LCD3 and buy a HE6, two planars to rule them all.

Please anybody report any defect or inconsistency of the lcd3s produced after 20 feb. As far as I know, from this forum and our community, none, expect for purrin, and I'd say it is pretty good.   So, for those who doesn't have the new LCD3s and have no interest in buying one, stop...

Looking forward to that. By the way, I don't think there would be a "bad pair" anymore, if the pair were produced after around 23 Feb, since that's the date when the "new" LCD3s started to be shipped. So for those who purchased their LCD3 recently, you are not likely getting a veiled-pair.

I guess I'm the first one reporting back that non-veiled LCD3 got better after RMA:D, sorry to make people curious~~~~

I think so, at least when I checked last month.

I don't like equiments that are sterilised, hardened, tasteless and forward. I won't call those type of SQ accurate at all, no mater how well they measured, because to me they are far from the sound in real world. Hell, those kind of sound are lifeless, IMO.

 HA-160DS and HA-160D might be bottle necks in a LCD3 system, if you want to push the LCD3 to its true colour.

linnenberg udac1／spa1 would be a nice upgrade for your system, within your budget. That is if you only need USB function.

I guess the display is the biggest improvement. I don't give a dime of the ipad camera. Completely useless IMO, and very disturbing when in a show or live where lots of people shooting with ipad.

I spent 5000 USD from my original 009 money and DIYed a computer today, for the new LCD3 put the 009 aside for now.
