JH Audio Angie Impressions and Discussion Thread
Here is a shameless plug for the Moon Audio Black Dragon IEM cable for the Angies (Siren series). I was experiencing interim drop-offs with my original (non-metal) Angies. I bit the bullet and bought the Black Dragons. The cord is infinity more flexible and less tangle-free. Also, the...- el_monkey

JH Audio Angie Impressions and Discussion Thread
Wow, you are right! One has three rings (the extra in the red container) and the other has two rings. Upon comparison the two are different in size (3.5 versus 2.5) . Thanks for the heads-up. It saved me some embarrassment. Good to know that I got what I am supposed to get. Thanks much!- el_monkey

JH Audio Angie Impressions and Discussion Thread
Hi, I am a new owner of an Angie and had a question for current owners. My accessories included a spare 3.5 mm cable. I was under the impression that the package was supposed to include a 3.5 mm terminated cable and a balanced dual 2.5 mm cable for connection to A&K dacs. Am I wrong? If not...- el_monkey

The SE846 Balanced Cable thread - Options, recommendations and impressions
Here is what I posted on the Shure SE846 Impressions thread: I have a set of copper wire Exo cables from plusSound for my Shure SE846 that I really like that cost me about $150. I got them with Pono balanced terminals. The cables are attractive, very well made, and the Shure connectors fit... -

I have a set of copper wire Exo cables from plusSound for my Shure SE846 that I really like that cost me about $150. I got them with Pono balanced terminals. The cables are attractive, very well made, and the Shure connectors fit tightly. Many options to customize the cables to your liking...- el_monkey

Shure SE846 Impressions Thread
I have both the Geek Out IEM 100 and the SE846. I do need to adjust the settings for the IEM 100 and the volume control on my JRiver Media Center 19 is very sensitive (small changes result in big volume changes). Not to the point of a tiny bump resulting in deafening volumes. Also, no channel...- el_monkey

The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016
Try using the line out jack (next to the headphone jack). Less gain, so less hiss but higher volume setting. Works for me.- el_monkey

Best 2.1 setup for under $100?
I bought a set of these Panasonic speakers last week based on the strength of the Amazon reviews and other Internet reviews and could not be more pleased. I am using them with my desktop computer using a Creative Titanium sound card and the sound is very impressive and rich. Tons better than...- el_monkey

Hifiman HE-5LE, need Amp/DAC advice.
I am currently using an inexpensive T-Amp that I got on EBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/SMSL-SA-S1-TA2020-High-grade-HIFI-Digital-Amplifier-S-/120707523600?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c1abaa410) and purchased an XLR pigtail to allow me to use the speaker taps...- el_monkey

amp/dac for the denon d7000
I have had great success using an iBasso D10 Cobra with my Denon D7000s. I enjoy the sound so much that I am getting rid of some of my desktop amps. The DAC on the D10 has multiple inputs (USB, optical, and coaxial) so it is very flexible. Personally, I enjoy the stock opamp/buffer combination...- el_monkey
