Wow, you are right!  One has three rings (the extra in the red container) and the other has two rings.  Upon comparison the two are different in size (3.5 versus 2.5) .  Thanks for the heads-up.  It saved me some embarrassment.  Good to know that I got what I am supposed to get.  Thanks much!

I have both the Geek Out IEM 100 and the SE846.  I do need to adjust the settings for the IEM 100 and the volume control on my JRiver Media Center 19 is very sensitive (small changes result in big volume changes).  Not to the point of a tiny bump resulting in deafening volumes.  Also, no channel...

Try using the line out jack (next to the headphone jack).  Less gain, so less hiss but higher volume setting.  Works for me.
