DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread
I bought these and was very impressed with the quality. They tested great, (weren't impossible to solder, though very tiny) and were very strong when assembled. https://www.ebay.com/itm/200940991699 YMMV- MadDane

Low end. Cheap. Generic. Otherwise bang for buck cable thread!
So I just got these: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33018107228.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.160c4c4drQQiKf This was on sale for $24 USD, sounds fantastic great clarity and separation. Hard to find a good quality 90 degree balanced 2.5 plug. I really like the angled plug for my AK SR15...- MadDane

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!
Though to some that may not be a lot of money, to spend that amount on a cable is a LOT of money to many people, including myself. If you make 10 times what I do, then $200 to you is $2000 to me. it's all relative, like aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, etc.- MadDane

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!
I've tried over a dozen balanced cables with my k10's and some were a bit tight, but they all worked. They were all from aliexpress all @ $12 to $20 USD depending on design. I'm currently using an 8 core copper that tested the best (resistance & sound) and cost me $17 during the Chinese holiday...- MadDane

Meze 99 Classics Discussion + Impressions Thread
I don't use the 99's for gaming as they tend to get too hot. I use the 650's, but mostly, (and I might get some grind for this) I use my Audeze Lcd-2 for gaming as the bass and sound are just so natural, being open-backed they stay cooler as well. YMMV- MadDane

I've been dying to try the Sony's for a while and missed out on a couple of Can-Jam's so... There seems to be a dealer in the East bay or S.F. that carries AK so I might drop by and compare.- MadDane

Astell & Kern SR15: A&norma Impressions & Reviews
Well.... From my experience DAP's in general are about the sound quality and from a wired perspective, at least at this point, it's the best. BT is getting close but not quite at the ultimate resolution most audiophiles and their DAP's are searching for.- MadDane

If you try to connect the balanced from an AK to your system you'll get a nasty hum. It's because there is no ground, the way to overcome this is to use both outputs, and the 3.5mm becomes the ground and removes the hum. Or you could just make life SO LESS complicated and use the 3.5 non...- MadDane
