HiBy RS2: dual card slots, Darwin R2R, FIR, NOS, MQA 8x--news and impressions thread

RS2 with full-size cans day! Love the warm-ish sound of RS2 and the details of Ether CX. RS2 has all the juicy to run it (Vol 62 in high gain)

Hey what I said about their soundstage is just in a relative sense. My IE600 may also contribute what I described "smaller soundstage". You may need to test RS2 yourself to see if it is (not) your thing.

One thing I find it unfathomable is that the retail price of RS6 is roughly 2.5 times of RS2 but, sound-wise the difference between the two is not that big. RS6 is more technically competence in, I think, the soundstage and micro-details (i.e. the technical department). Yes RS6 also can...

HiBy RS2: dual card slots, Darwin R2R, FIR, NOS, MQA 8x--news and impressions thread

I am not a metalhead and don't have many metal tunes but I did test RS6 and RS2 with Judas Priest's Painkiller and Iron Maiden's 22 Acacia Avenue. First off I think RS2 is by not mean soft or polite. I even think RS2, in low-gain, is more dynamic than RS6 in mid-gain. But the soundstage of...

HiBy RS2: dual card slots, Darwin R2R, FIR, NOS, MQA 8x--news and impressions thread

I mean you need to test it first. It is not for everyone. Not for those who prefer a bigger soundstage….. or men or women having bigger fingers. One small note about the small screen. I have a 256GB micro-SD full of music (6,000-ish) but since I use the album view to scroll through my music...

HiBy RS2: dual card slots, Darwin R2R, FIR, NOS, MQA 8x--news and impressions thread

My not-so-critical comparison with RS6 and R3 Pro as transport in a few words Using VE Ext, Sennheiser IE600 Soundstage: RS6 is much wider and RS2 is more initimate Vocal: RS2 is closer but it does not sacrifice the transparency for showing the instruments in the background. Good for female...

HiBy RS2: dual card slots, Darwin R2R, FIR, NOS, MQA 8x--news and impressions thread

Auditioned RS2 alongside my RS6 and R3 Pro and hated what I heard….. The reason I hated what I heard because it clicked all the boxes that a DAP should achieve: - compact and small footprint - R2R - no all other non-sense like Android, streaming, Bluetooth - Fit well with Mojo2 - it comes...

HiBy RS6 Android DAP - Snapdragon 660, 4+64GB, 5” full HD, Darwin R2R, FIR, NOS, MQA 16x, copper chassis

Hey @Joe Bloggs please do us (or at least me) a small favour? Would you please just make the battery charging indicator a bit bigger? When it sleeps, the battery percentage is just so small.

    Product Launch VE7

Fast and detailed? In terms of fastness they are quite similar. About the details, IMHO VE7 may be a tad better. I think the major difference of the two is the exuberant bass of VE7, which I think is quite fun to listen to. (But bear in mind I only listened to snippets of three songs during...

Unique Melody 3D Terminator 3DT Announcement Thread

Throw various cables at the 3DT (and using N3Pro) and I really like the pairing with SXC-8 (8-wire silver-plated copper) most. Yes, the PW Audio No. 5 (4-wire Copper Litz) does provide more impact at the low but the presentation has been less detailed than SXC-8 and roll-off in the high...

    The discovery thread!

After almost 1.5 months of usage I can report that it is definitely NOT a basshead set. It is not boomy, but it has a nice sub-bass extension and good impact. The transparency is very good. The vocal is not forward. The soundstage is not big so it suits live music in a more intimate setting...

    The discovery thread!

I would rather give it more time to burn-in. But allow me talk about some initial thoughts: - The transparency is very good; - It is with a rather balanced tuning with a slight emphasis on the high. I like how it handles female vocals and as well as cymbal sounds; - On the other hand (end), it...

    The discovery thread!

It seems it is the only tread on HF that the UM 3DT is mentioned. I bought the Hong Kong 🇭🇰 Special Edition. They are having burning-in now. Not a bassy-doom machine. Aftermarket cable definitely makes it better. And it is not easy to drive so that I need to switch to high gain using the...

Like to listen to female vocals through these V-shape IEMs. Love the warm warm feel in this fall season.

Cayin N3Pro DAP: Dual AK4493 and MQA with Vacuum Tube

Hey, it is not a complaint but more like a plead with @HiByMusic (and @Joe Bloggs). I really like Hiby OS but I have found that the display of Chinese titles a little clumsy (since my day with the amazing Hiby R3). Could Hiby just put all the titles / artists with Chinese characters under the...

Superb! Though I love BW03 for its fun V-shape tuning more. And Kenneth is a super nice guy.
