    The discovery thread!

Well once you disinfect the iem is not dripping in bleach, it should be dried. Sure it's not the safest for the metallic iem but it's the best disinfectant you can find in any household. Of course you have to be careful with it too as it is a skin irritant when splashed directly on your skin...

    The discovery thread!

Well said but I would advise to use bleach instead of alcoholic wipe, it's better at killing microorganisms. But either way, if you disinfect, you should be fine as the virus would probably be already dead anyway.

HIBY R6 - DAP Dual DAC Balanced Out - Great Reviews and Over 500% Funded @ Indiegogo!

I have Wi-Fi issues and it was the main reason for me to upgrade to the new M6. The Wi-Fi is much better on the M6. Still love the R6 though

    Shanling M6 Player - Android OS, Google Play, Snapdragon 430CPU 4GB RAM, 2.5 and 4.4 balanced, Dual AK4495SEQ, 4.7inch screen, FW V2.74

You need to use an app for the soft keys. Problem is that it is only an overlay and it doesn't resize the screen so anything you need to touch on the bottom of the screen is kinda difficult to touch. I can make the soft keys disappear but that requires a very precise swap...

    Shanling M6 Player - Android OS, Google Play, Snapdragon 430CPU 4GB RAM, 2.5 and 4.4 balanced, Dual AK4495SEQ, 4.7inch screen, FW V2.74

While I mostly agree with the last few comments, there's one thing that we should emphasize more, it's the wireless connectivity. That's the main reason why I wanted to upgrade my R6 and sure enough, the Wi-Fi on the M6 is on another level. Overall very happy with the purchase and I am sure it...

    Shanling M6 Player - Android OS, Google Play, Snapdragon 430CPU 4GB RAM, 2.5 and 4.4 balanced, Dual AK4495SEQ, 4.7inch screen, FW V2.74

After some days of usage, here are my first thoughts on the Shanling M6: I love the form factor, it rests in my hand very well and the screen is bigger than my Hiby R6. The lack of soft key navigation is problematic for me as I am not a fan of the gesture navigation but I added some with an app...

    Shanling M6 Player - Android OS, Google Play, Snapdragon 430CPU 4GB RAM, 2.5 and 4.4 balanced, Dual AK4495SEQ, 4.7inch screen, FW V2.74

the Hiby R6 has almost the same processor (4 cores vs 8 on the M6) and it's running Android 8.1 so no it's not the reason. I am sure Shanling will upgrade the OS later on, Hiby started with Android 6...

awesome thanks! Not to be too negative, I just purchased a Shanling M0 for my wife on Aliexpress. I have a good feeling about the M6, it just need some polishing like a newer Android version (security patch of December 2016 is not exactly cutting it nowadays...)

    Shanling M6 Player - Android OS, Google Play, Snapdragon 430CPU 4GB RAM, 2.5 and 4.4 balanced, Dual AK4495SEQ, 4.7inch screen, FW V2.74

Since we are in the complaining phase of the unit ownership honeymoon, I'll add another one. It seems like the accessibility setting is missing from this version of Android and it makes some apps crash because of it. I tried a bunch of virtual key apps yesterday and they all relied on this...

No I did not. Uninstalling/reinstalling solved my playstore issue. They should write down that factory reset is necessary...

The 2.74 update broke my playstore. Shall I remove + reinstall it? It was working fine with the shipping 2.62 firmware. Thanks

Ah !! Just received my M6 but didn't see the last message until now and I was quite puzzled by not seeing the playstore already installed. I managed to install it and now I am updating my unit. Of course finding the right app to open for the ota update took me 5 minutes. So bottom line, look at...
