High End Cables Thread (digital, analog, power)
I've been down the cable route across power, usb, speaker, interconnect and ethernet. Even if you get the perfect cable set-up, as soon as you introduce another cable it will change the sound of your system. Start with a superb quality power cable. I recommend the Oyaide TUNAMI GPX – R V2. It's...- azabu

The Stax SR-L500 and SR-L700 Impressions Thread
007 Mk2. I have the BHSE with miniwatt EL34s. I have to brighten mine up with the Stax silver plated extension cord, I think it's the same one in your 009. Before you spend any dollars on a new headphone, have you tried HQplayer? It might given the a significant lift in sound quality for very...- azabu

Ethernet cables, Switches and Network related. Based on listening is it worth to buy more expensive ones? Share your listening experience.
Yes the SOtM Cat 7 is very good. I like pairing the light grey and black SOtM ethernet cables with the Supra Cat 8 via the Baaske. The dark grey SOtM is only good if your system is bright. A very good power cable is the Oyaide Tunami GPX-R V2. Punches way above its weight. The plug use...- azabu

I have the Pink Faun. Didn't do much in my system I've found the Baaske MI-1005 and SOtM isolators to work very well. Baaske in particular are superb value.- azabu

The Stax Thread III
The SR-007 Mk2 uses copper for the headphone cable, so it's just a matter of plugging in the SRE-925 SPC extension cable for a simple AB test. The extension cable is just a small and inexpensive tweak to lift the treble and bring it closer to the 009 series *cough*. At this stage, I'm more than...- azabu

The Stax Thread III
I'm running a BHSE and don't hear any degradation at all, just a nice uplift in tone from the silver-plated copper cable. I have experienced degradation when using iem adapters, nothing too drastic but noticeable.- azabu

Just pick up the Stax spc extension cable for your 007 Mk1. It's an inexpensive upgrade and will give you a nice bump in SQ.- azabu

Fostex TH909 Announcement
Yes, mids are recessed and the emphasis is pushed to the bass. I'll also mention and this is just my opinion, while the bass is more impactful, it has less definition and control. I auditioned the TH-909 and TH-900 side by side.- azabu

Fostex TH909 Announcement
I auditioned the TH-909 for about 20 minutes yesterday with my Macbook Pro with Hugo 2 and HQPlayer / Roon. I really like the TH-900 and going in I was hoping the bass would be less prominent with the new TH-909. My impressions are the bass is even more impactful, mids are recessed sort of...- azabu

STAX SR-009S new flagship electrostatic earspeakers released (with impressions)
I agree with all of the above, with the exception of speed. I found the 009S to sound faster, cleaner with better control. The only downside as oneguy mentioned is it does seem to have a smaller soundstage than the 009. I think the increased cost of the 009S is well justified.- azabu

STAX SR-009S new flagship electrostatic earspeakers released (with impressions)
Just auditioned the 009S with the T8000 at Yodobashi Akihabara. I wasn't expecting much, but it's a huge step up from the 009. It's friggin perfection. I was going to get the L700, that's now just an impossibility after listening to the 009S.- azabu

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread
I'd recommend the Iso Regen or original Regen by Uptone, it's a cheap improvement to recondition the USB signal and well worth the investment. Have a read of a few threads on Computer Audiophile. If you can swing it, also pick up the LPS 1.2 as a bundle pack. You can use the LPS 1.2 on either...- azabu

Chord Electronics Qutest DAC - Official Thread
Congrats! I feel the same way. The Uptone JS-2 LPS is incoming tomorrow. I'd be interested if anyone has tested the Qutest and Hugo 2 side by side. I auditioned the Hugo 2 today just with iems, and it's like an out of body experience afterwards. Very very clean, though to me it sounds like it...- azabu

Just a quick post about the Janus! I went to e earphone in Akihabara this afternoon to audition the Janus and Chord Hugo 2 (if you're after a semi portable / desktop set-up, the Hugo 2 is hard to beat!). Testing was with Noble Encores and Sony ex1000 with e4ua 2 pin adapters. First up was the...- azabu

The LPS 1.2 is much cleaner than my mains. I'm running LPS 1.2 -> Qutest -> BHSE -> Stax 007. We all have different set-ups, we all hear things differently. YMMV.- azabu
