BTG-Audio Cable Impressions, Reviews and Discussion | Sunrise, Starlight & FitEar
Same boat here. Good communication until I shipped my SE530 for recabling, and now haven't heard from Brian in over a month. Did you manage to receive your IEMs eventually?- Drake22

Sony MDR-1000X
What is the sound leaking out like on these compared to Momentum wireless? I just got these and feel like it is a bit too much and I'm afraid I will disturb people on a plane/train as I like to listen quite loud (i.e. 75% volume on pixel 2)... When listening quietly the sound feels muffled. I...- Drake22

Denon D2000 D7000 Wood Cup swap
They sound very good. I have the Jena Labs ultrawire on them, 22 gauge. Also J$ v2 pads and d7k cups. The cable was the most significant improvement in mids and highs. The bass and soundstage were enhanced by cups and pads. I really like them :P The only thing left is to replace the...- Drake22

Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones
Quote: Nah, it'll still be not enough bass. Because there are other frequencies besides bass in xb-500. So in the overall picture because it'll hear also mids and highs along with bass, it will sound like there is less bass than in the headphone that produces just bass. Thus, it won't be...- Drake22

I just received my RS1i today...
I love grados electric guitar sound. I haven't heard the rs1i, but i had sr325i which was upgraded later to gs1000 which was sidegraded to hf-2 (after owning both for 1.5 years I preferred the hf-2 after all). Guitar and male vox sound divine on grados. Comfort issues are easily...- Drake22

Optical TOSLINK vs. USB: Which connection is better to connect a DAC?
Quote: Your posts are worthless. Probably all of them are it seems. What does your paragraph have to do with latency? Your paragraph talks about general quality loss from converting squarewave signal into sinewaves. Of course, it has an effect on FR, and what about it? :D Mate...- Drake22

Optical TOSLINK vs. USB: Which connection is better to connect a DAC?
Quote: Your DAC has a buffer. After "spdif receiver (dir 9001 for ex.)" there is buffer. Your receiver collects the data and packs it into the buffer. It then passes it through i2s bus to the DAC who converts that buffer into analog wave on the way out. This makes any jitter that...- Drake22

Optical TOSLINK vs. USB: Which connection is better to connect a DAC?
Quote: *on the way out* "??? Once the data goes into a big enough buffer, there is no jitter to speak about anymore." - that's my point you've been disagreeing about. And that's gotta be some insane jitter to miss the buffer, hence why there are different buffer settings to...- Drake22

iBasso PB-2 Pelican fully balanced portable, DB-2 Dac . . HiFlight recommended op amps page 16. .
I wonder if I get DB-2 when it comes out, and use optical out on my laptop into db2+pb2, but use the single end output on pb2 because all my phones are singled ended. Would I be missing too much? Should i get my headphones reterminated.. And overall would that be a nice semi...- Drake22

HD 650 vs DT 990 250ohm (It could be: DT 990 600ohm vs 250ohm...)
i hated 600 ohm dt990, it sounded too harsh and sibilant. I thought of it as a ruined headphone, and liked 250 ohm edition more which sounded more balanced. Although also very sibilant, and there are indeed minor differences between the two. The 600 ohm one will just have less noise, since the...- Drake22
