Chinese / Asian Brand Info Thread (Headphones, IEMs, Amps, DACs)
Hi everyone, What is the latest best successor to the Piston 2.1? Something that's durable, with good bass and blocks out ambient noise? Is there anything better these days below $100? Thanks!- sithjedi333

SpinFit Eartips Thread - The cheapest audio upgrade
I'm using bass rings on my DN2000J and I get less flex and pressure with my spinfits than my spiral dots. Not sure why though.- sithjedi333

DUNU DN-2000J -- More Than Evolution?
I really recommend burning them in for 100 hours before judging the treble. Also for those using the bass rings, I recommend no spacers and spinfit tips instead of the spiral dots. The treble is not too aggressive and the soundstage is great.- sithjedi333

DUNU DN-2000J -- More Than Evolution?
Thanks Brooko. Your comparison is very helpful. Have you heard the 1plus2 with gold/silver? Which Dunu has a similar signature? One issue I had with the DN1000 is the esssssss sound in female vocals. In that respect which one/ones would be better? I'm inclined to go with the DN2000J, but...- sithjedi333

DUNU DN-2000J -- More Than Evolution?
Brooko, fantastic review. I have 2 questions: 1) if you take the DN2000J and boost the bass a bit, how does it sound? 2) which genres of music would you say each of the 3 is most suited for? I've had the DN1000 and loved the bass, but the midrange wasn't clear nor fast. I'm inclined...- sithjedi333

Hi Bass Club, I'm currently using the Xiaomi Piston 2.1 IEM as a tough everyday phone. On the other end I have a pair of Tralucent 1plus2 for quality listening. I'm looking for something in between that I can use on a daily basis for to replace my Xiaomi. It should be fairly durable, cable...- sithjedi333

SpinFit Eartips Thread - The cheapest audio upgrade
Thanks for sharing. Looks like my medium is in between a medium and small. Since the Spinfits seem to go deeper into the ear, do people generally go for the smaller size if they're between sizes? thx- sithjedi333

Seeking midrange IEM similar to Dunu DN1000
Bump. Right now I'm considering the DN2000J but it has less bass and still has a treble peak. Any others I should look at? Thx!- sithjedi333

How do you guys decide on sizing? I'll be trying these out on Tralucent 1plus2, Dunu DN2000 and Xiaomi Piston 2.1. I'm usually a Medium. Do these run small or large, and should I order 2 different sizes just in case? thx- sithjedi333

I would also check out reviews by tupac0306. He has most of the TOTL CIEMs ACROSS DIFFERENT BRANDS and puts out a chart that compares all the characteristics.- sithjedi333

[REVIEW/TOUR] Somic MH412 + Viper4Android. The "Put Up or Shut Up" Review and Tour.
I decided to enhance the bass, could be I don't have a great seal with the Philips tips which are pretty stiff. So I turned on dynamic bass, 50-70%, common earphone v2 and it sounds pretty good without bleeding into the mids.- sithjedi333

Anakchan's review highlights similar features as Eke's, except Anak likes them and Eke does not. It's good to see some consistency accompanied by different personal preferences as Cosmic Holy points out. I found Eke's comments helpful as well.- sithjedi333

Tralucent Audio 1Plus2 IEM (Now With 'New' 1Plus2.2!) Impressions Thread
I agree. Must have been the slow summer season. When you look at the head to head reviews vs mid tier IEMs like the SE846 and AKG3003 that cost $1k or so, and tupac's comparison chart vs true TOTL which are $1300-1600, the 1plus2 seems like a screaming deal used, especially with a known...- sithjedi333

James, Thanks for the suggestion. I was quite skeptical, but these Philips SHE3590 tips are definitely transformational, I may have to get them for my other IEMs and wish there were an aftermarket source rather than having to buy the whole IEM. This is some next level stuff right...- sithjedi333

[REVIEW/TOUR] Somic MH412 + Viper4Android. The "Put Up or Shut Up" Review and Tour.
Thanks James. That's interesting, usually I thought shallow wide tips give the biggest soundstage. Is there a good source for them, or do you have to buy the IEMs to get the tips?- sithjedi333

[REVIEW/TOUR] Somic MH412 + Viper4Android. The "Put Up or Shut Up" Review and Tour.
I will post a pic later but they're black silicone wide bore tips that are deep seated so the screen is close to the tip opening. There were 4 pair of which 2 seem to be mediums.- sithjedi333

[REVIEW/TOUR] Somic MH412 + Viper4Android. The "Put Up or Shut Up" Review and Tour.
A few more thoughts. Many IEMs depend on tricks. Boosted highs to enhance clarity. Scooped out lower mids to bring out vocals. Always on bass for an exciting sound. The MH412 + Joe's V4A is just right. Bass has great presence when it needs to be there. Mids are spot on. Treble is just...- sithjedi333
