It could be they glued the insides in there, these things really aren't designed to be used for longer than two years at most before the H8 is out and they will expect you to upgrade.

The one advantage of the 80 is it really is a blank canvas for EQ and sound enhancements. I mainly use mine with my Gryphon and I always use the xbass and xspace features to give it a more fun sound signature.

The IEMatch alters the Gryphon's frequency response significantly (Even I notice a difference with it on with my dodgy ears) If it sounds better with a particular IEM or headphone to you then that is great, think of it as a custom Ananda EQ setting.

People call IEM's and headphones "muddy" to justify the effort put into burning them in for 100's of hours before even listening to them. Burning in is IMHO something that has rarely if ever made any difference to my ears. I will carry on blissfully unaware of the burn-in effect.
