Sennheiser IE900 Review, Measurements, & Harman Target Talk
Everyone is different but to me it looks a little heavy. I like to forget I'm using an IEM, even the stock cable is a little unwieldy to me I would go for a super lightweight item.- MarkParity

Shanling H7 - High-End Portable DAC/AMP/Player, Featuring new AKM AK4499EX Flagship DAC
I doubt there are screws under the MQA label, Quite a few Headfi owners will just peel the label off in disgust anyway MQA has no purpose to exist in this hobby. :-) On a serious note if it isn't glued it will be a very tight fit because if not there there is a risk of a rattle which will...- MarkParity

Westone W80
If you think it's the cable just buy a replacement either a Westone original or most mmcx cables will work. I doubt you will find anyone willing to repair it though, it's glued together I assume and to open it up you would basically have to destroy it. Yes you are right in nothing seems to...- MarkParity

Shanling H7 - High-End Portable DAC/AMP/Player, Featuring new AKM AK4499EX Flagship DAC
It could be they glued the insides in there, these things really aren't designed to be used for longer than two years at most before the H8 is out and they will expect you to upgrade.- MarkParity

Cayin N6ii, Unlimited Possibilities: a fully modularized smart DAP
Hi, could you please explain what you mean by "balance off the Bluetooth signal"? If you use a DAP as a Bluetooth receiver then many allow balanced output, if that what you mean?- MarkParity

Like this do you mean? Yes it can be done. https://www.head-fi.org/threads/chord-2go-2yu-wired-wireless-network-streamer-and-s-pdif-adaptor-official-thread.925464/post-16453271 Edit: Its been a while since I've done this but from memory I think you do need the 2yu to wake up the 2go, then...- MarkParity

Shure KSE1500 Review - Shure KSE1500 Sound Isolating Electrostatic Earphones
I would be interested to hear your opinion on the Etymotic Dual flange tips too, they are my favourite, not entirely for the sound though but certainly for the fit and comfort. https://www.etymotic.com/product/dual-flange-eartips/- MarkParity

SONY NW-WM1Z M2 / WM1A M2
I updated about ten hours ago, no real diferences noted. I did hope Sony had seen sense and at least increased the volume limit slightly on the EU version but sadly no.- MarkParity

Can you send one to @Vamp898 for measuring? Feel free to add me to your ignore list too if you think I'm a "Troll" too. I've already added you to my ignore list and anyone else who goes on about expensive SD cards sounding better than standard SD cards in this thread will get added too, the...- MarkParity

SONY NW-WM1Z M2 / WM1A M2
Its a battery powered USB charged device so voltage/mains frequency will make no difference. The only real disadvantage of buying any non UK version would be the hassle of sending it back if it broke for some reason. Most people don't buy from the US because their warranty isn't as good as say...- MarkParity

No the edge would be this one, but please don't encourage them or this thread will turn into a this expensive card sounds better than this one for rock and pop and this one sounds better for Classical. These kind of discussions definitely do not belong here as the subject will cause arguments...- MarkParity

If you need a version without capacitors then apparently NPAudio has them for sale at £1,299.99, I've ordered stuff from there in the past, great seller.- MarkParity

xDSD Gryphon: birth of a ‘head-fi’ legend
Thanks for the replies. I'm using an Oppo phone that supports LHDC with an Oppo wireless IEM that I own but not with the Gryphon, I will check the GAIA app but I didn't change the defaults so if its enabled by default then it should be good. Edit: I disabled all the CODEC's except LHDC and I...- MarkParity

Chord Electronics - Hugo 2 - The Official Thread
The postie just delivered my PW Audio adaptor, can't say it sounds better than what I had before. I had 6.3mm to 3.5mm -> 3.5mm to 4.4mm -> HD650. This does look a lot neater though so I'm happy.- MarkParity

Etymotic & Westone - Discussion & Impressions (index in 1st post)
The one advantage of the 80 is it really is a blank canvas for EQ and sound enhancements. I mainly use mine with my Gryphon and I always use the xbass and xspace features to give it a more fun sound signature.- MarkParity

xDSD Gryphon: birth of a ‘head-fi’ legend
The IEMatch alters the Gryphon's frequency response significantly (Even I notice a difference with it on with my dodgy ears) If it sounds better with a particular IEM or headphone to you then that is great, think of it as a custom Ananda EQ setting.- MarkParity

Campfire Audio Trifecta
Wow I'm humbled you remember me. The Sony 1A and 1Z DAP's are very good, and just seem to have great synergy with CA's dynamic driver IEM products so glad I could help. I'm still tempted by the Trifecta, I'm still looking for one last "flagship" purchase in the $1000's category...- MarkParity

Campfire Audio Trifecta
People call IEM's and headphones "muddy" to justify the effort put into burning them in for 100's of hours before even listening to them. Burning in is IMHO something that has rarely if ever made any difference to my ears. I will carry on blissfully unaware of the burn-in effect.- MarkParity
