Astell&Kern A&Ultima SP2000T Impressions Thread
Seems to me that I recall in the old days (I had a 120 ll and a 240SS) that the Chinese version only got its own firmware, but I could be wrong or that might have changed. Jason will likely answer you soon. :) Edit- and there it is.- olddude

New TOL A&K DAP : the AK Ultima SP1000
I just ran the most recent update for my 2000T. UI is the same as before. Jason, is there going to ba another update with a new UI? My SP1000SS is now hooked up to an amp and Kef speakers (Toslink) for living room use so a new UI is not something I really care about. And it's what, five...- olddude

New TOL A&K DAP : the AK Ultima SP1000
Anyone here running their SP1K through an amp via optical? I got a reasonable amp for about $90 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SLRBDV4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) but am looking to upgrade to around $500. Tube or solid state? I'm running them into my Kef towers...- olddude

Introducing the Astell&Kern A&ultima SP2000T
Tos-Link out of the 3.5 port is how I do it. Your 2000T has a manual in Internal. Pull it out and look it up. If you haven't purchased one yet, just Google the manual.- olddude

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)
Time is relative. :) Because China keeps closing down, the main time delay was once it arrived. It sat in the PO there for a couple of weeks, since I guess they weren't delivering. Time out from SoCal to there was quick, as was time back once he worked on it. I think he took less than a...- olddude

I bought his Stormbreaker while my 1960 was being repaired. If anyone wants to reunite the Odin with it, I'm willing to sell it for cost and shipping. I put about a month on it.- olddude

First, take a look at the Internal drive and the MicroCard drive and make sure you didn't load music or other files OUTSIDE of the Music folders. Take out the MicroCard, do a full reset and see if it works. If it doesn't, remove all music files from the Internal, do a full reset and see if...- olddude

PW Audio Cables Discussion Thread
Did you actually PM Peter? Or did someone else tell you that info? Because I just had mine done (as I posted) and there was no issue whatsoever with having it rebuilt. Also, I'm a bit confused by your post. Is/was the entire issue cosmetic wear on the hex? Nothing that affected the sound...- olddude

There will never be an IEM that satisfies everyone. Likely there will never be an IEM that satisfies a large segment of the audio-buying population. For obvious reasons. That said, it's always fun to watch new things drop and the scramble to get them, the happy posts, and then the new...- olddude

While we are on cables, I just got my PWA 1960 back and am able to compare it directly to the Stormbreaker I bought to fill in while the other was in Hong Kong. I posted a fairly full description on the PWAudio thread, but bottom line, I don't think the two are the same. They have...- olddude
